"Official" Brian Heaton Goalie Thread

Well, I thought it was time that Mr. Heaton has a thread dedicated to his gear.

My history with Heaton gear dates back to my Helite IV Pro Brodeur blocker that I used in high school.

Anyway.... onto the news

Today, I placed my order for a set of Eyelite 10 pads w/ Eyelite 10 blocker to match.
Pads are sized 33"

Brian and I spent the week e-mailing many ideas back and forth regarding the construction of my new pads. He's an amazing guy to work with.

We decided on the following modifications:

- RBK knee cradle
- Extra flex point above knee
- Clarino knee/calf wings
- Combo of nylon w/ quick release and leather straps
- single boot strap
- toe cap w/ toe ties
- and of course custom colors
- wht/blk/silv all weaver
- name embroidery

The blocker will be stock with colors and name embroidery.

Here's a composite of the BHG color sheets

Amazing! I loved the H10's! Unfortunately traditional style pads have fallen fast out of favour. I think allot more goalies would benefit from the torsional properties of stuffed pads. Anyways, good luck with them and I hope you post pics and a review when they arrive! Keep us posted!

I agree...goalies today could definitely use some extra flex in their pads... having tried newer box pads, I opted to go back to a more traditional feel.

Pads and blocker will be constructed the week of Feb.

Pictures will surely follow!

I've got the c/a, but my wife was making too much fun of me taking pics of the other stuff.

The one drag is that the outside roll screening is bleeding a bit, but performance wise I have no issues. Love them!

The block & catch are awesome, the blocker shape is perfect for me.

To note: the Blocker is actually a Eyelite 10, but Brian skinned it as a 5 so it would match.

Well i don't own BHG gear, but, i do own some Pro Z pads that are the precursor(or actualy) of the Eyewall 5s.

I can't post pics cause my other pc crashed.

I do hope to maybe get a PRO H5 c/a done up one day

Thumbs up

I have the Eyelite 10 gloves. I LOVE the feel of that L3000 snagg. So soft, so comfortable. The palm isnt the thickest but you can stick handle like DiPietro on crack with it. I will post the pics in this post tomorrow.

Chunk your pads have held up really well !

I can't wait to get my BHG gear...thanks again for all the info on the pads and gloves. It definitely help steer me in the right direction.

Brian suggested the EL 10 blocker for me...as he said it was rather similar to the old Helite IV blocker I loved from years ago.

What's the weight like with the EL 10 block ?

Hi
Did you order these as 12" or 11" width? I'm still waiting to see these pads done up in NHL spec 11" width.

Mr. Phil. There's a better looking blocker graphic that Brian can do that better match's the pads. Just ask him about it; it looks much better than the one you're getting done.

Do you happen to have a picture of it by any chance?
I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like before I ask.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure a member on this board has it. Try doing a search. Here's the template I sent Brian:
