Official "Brown" Hockey Thread
After doing a search, I found nothing. So here it goes!
Official site: www.brownhockey.com
I currently own the JB2100CA and JB2100PN, both of which are bombproof. I just finished purchasing the JB-822 knee guards after parting ways with my thighboards. I saw the thread that showed Luongo's setup and thought it would be a protective addition to my JB2100PN. Pics to follow -

Gotta question guys ... have any of you removed the chest plate from your Brown C/A? I've purchased a 554 from a fellow board member and am having a tough time with the added bulk that comes from the plate (heart guard or whatever you want to call it). Just wondering what those that have a similar model think.
I'm used to playing with a VERY old school brown so I know the basics about the make. Thanks in advance!

I just recently removed mine. I've used it 3 times since and will never go back. The chest plate was great in that it made controlling rebounds easier for me, but now that I have it gone, the unit hugs my body and reduces the bulk quite a bit (though I still look huge).

I just bought a set of Brown thigh/knee pads this week JB2100-KN. Absolutely amazing! The one knock I have is they kind of work there way down my knee throughout the game, so seeing those models that attach right to the Brown pant looks like the way to go. Darn it!
I just bought the Vaughn V2 pants at Christmas, so buying the Brown pant is out of the question right now. Are these pants as good as they look however?
The other thing I wanted ask was about the C/A. Many have said it is the best on the market. Do you guys who own them now concur compared to other brands you have owned?

I came from a Bauer 3 before I purchased a Brown C/A. It was major, major difference between the 2. After wearing a Brown C/A, I dont see how I can wear anything else. I have been tempted to try a Vaughn, but the Brown C/A is too good to give up.
There is a long break-in process which is a turnoff to those that have never worn one.
Bottom line, it is the best in the market.

And the second you get the plate off you're gonna get a ton of PMs from people who want to buy it! I should know, since I bought one off a BB member and added it onto my 553 c/a.

I second that. I wear a JB1700, and I recently acquired a CCM Gatekeeper Pro C/A, and I've still been wearing the 1700, even to shinny session and practice, where I techincally should be taking the time to break in the new CCM C/A. It (GK Pro) has a few minor fitting issues, but even if it didn't, I'd most likely still wear the Brown unit. Once it's broken in, it's money.

All i have from Brown is the JB503 c/a and the 2100 knees. Both are top notch and i can't remember ever getting a serious injury in either of them, just the odd wierd sneaky one.
