Does the full custom require a head mold or can you do it from measurements?

stacey has a state of the art computer program, i believe mont designed it, they only need three pictures of your head plus measurements and a custom mold can be made from there

Hmm interesting, can anyone (FD perhaps...) give me a ballpark figure of how much extra a full custom mold is (by PM is fine)?

I did that kind of chin-strap for two goalies in Switzerland and both tore and I was using genuine velcro products. They were replaced with PE straps which held/hold out.
With the present chin-strap system it allows for 9 adjustments - I can change that to 16 within a few seconds.

Having a buckle or folding system inside a Staytrix mask wouldnt work optimally as ST masks are made to sit very close to the face. Many other masks are made further away from the face (and jaw), thus they are able to cram in more thickness with the strapping.
The current setup allows for complete flatness (or at least only the thickness of a single strap).
I do however agree that the options for adjustment were perhaps too limited at the time you received your mask, but have since allowed for all the adjustment anyone would require.

Every adjustment relates to 1cm - 9 adjustments = almost FOUR inches - enough for any face I would think.
16 adjustments/cms = SIX inches = probably more than anyone would need

I have an ST4, and have been using it for a few months now. As others have said, the fit, attention to detail, etc are all excellent.
What I've really noticed is the cooling/moisture management. I have a way above average sweat production ability, and after the first game played in the ST4, I got comments from the team that since my head wasn't soaked I must not have been working very hard.
I must also echo what has been said about dealing with Mont and Stacey. They are awesome and put out a great product. Highly recommended!

Stacey mask
Got me a raise today at work... nice one. So, after the drinks this weekend, I've decided what I'll do to carelessly burn the money before I even have it. VISA helps me do this too, for those taking notes.
I'm ordering my Stacey mask next week, probably Monday. I've been in a ReidiC for about 5-6 months and it's been very good to me, but as I play against harder shots more and more, it's something I feel I need to upgrade.
You all seem so happy about the Stacey/Staytrix's you have, and I've been looking at masks for about a month now, but you guys in this thread and Stacey's coolness factor with answering questions and having Mont on his side have made me very confident I've made the right choice.

The fit of my staytrix is a really amazing fit considering that I have a extra large head (seriously, i can't even find a baseball hat that fits me properly, and normal sized toque make me look like a kid since they are so tightly fitted on :P ) Finish and craft compared to other masks are amazing (reffering to Olie, Eddy, Promasque, & is a tad bit better than Sportmask, IMHO). Vision is very good, and the most important thing, it's amazing at protecting the brains, which is the thing that counts the most The only thing that hurts is the build time
p.s. my mask is usually soaked after a game, so it's pretty nasty. forgot to air dry it before my next game, and was expecting a wet nasty lid, but to my surprise it was almost 100% dry after 3 days in a bag.... says a lot about the absorbing moisture materials used in the mask...

That's $8.79, FYI Kev.
Yeah, they tell me they've ordered me a new hairnet, but I'll believe it when I see it. And, after 12 years of faithful work, I'm allowed to grow sideburns, but not over 3 inches and no patterns or funky designs.
Sigh, I guess it'll be a few years until I can fulfill my life goal of sporting angled mutton chops.
Oh, do you think McDonald's would give me stock options if I threatened to go to A&W?
