"Official" Sher-Wood Thread

I figured since i see a lot of other Official threads around why not make one for Sher-Wood?

If you have any Sher-Wood gear then post it here.

If you have any pictures of Sher-Wood gear then post it here.

Hopefully i didn't miss it in my search.

I was just thinking of making this one myself. I'm in the process of talking to my Sher-Wood rep. about ordering a set of 9990 gear (leg pads, catcher and blocker).

Could you also find out more info about the C-12's please? Ask if it can be customized as well. Thanks

You can only make a "official" sher-wood thread if you have "SWD" in your user name.

I have the C 10s and have been battling them for a couple of weeks now. One day love them next day put them up for sale. My only real complaint is that my thigh guards get caught under my pants on a regular basis. I took them off and of course caught a shot in the unprotected area, hurt like hell, so thigh guards are back on.

How long to really break these pads in? Also any tips for a beer leaguer regarding the thigh guards. I plan on leaving them in.

That's one thing I plan to ask, if they only have thigh boards or if they have a more traditional thigh guard. I've noticed that most pros who wear Sher-Wood "SWD" pads use knee pads (many of which are the RBKs).

I had a pair of C-10's for a bit over the summer last year, not a bad set of gear, though I didn't get the squared up thigh and constantly wished I did after a few five hole tricklers:

I actually went back to Sherwood for a pair of C5's to use for shinny this winter, and I found the jenpro on them actually held up better than on the C10's. By this I mean that after just one use of the C10's, I had some toe wear going on, whereas the C5's are still fine after about 20+ hours of pond hockey.

For break in, I found the usual tie down/tuck under small table method works well, and after awhile they'll be nice and flexy. I couldn't ever get used to the Pelican glove however, so this time around I just went with a matching 9950.

I hate the RBK thigh guard/knee protector. They never fit me correctly and they hurt on the butterfly. I went with a Bauer heavy foam knee/thigh guard and I like them but this shot caught me off center. A Thigh guard on the pad would have prevented that. I am using an RBK thigh guard since my pads came without them. I am thinking I will get the clear plexiglass Sherwood thigh guard as maybe they are less likely to get stuck. Pain in the butt when that happens.

When you say thigh guards, you meant thigh boards.

Sorry I don't know why but I always call the boards guards. Yep the boards get stuck under the shorts and this has never happened with any other pad set. I am thinking of trying them again without the boards. Unless of course someone has a sure fix for the problem. Thanks in advance.

I dont have Sherwoods, but my thigh boards used to get stuck under my pants too. What I did was take the thigh board strap and loop it around the first pad strap. So I would do the first pad strap first, then put the thigh board strap underneath the first pad strap and clip it. Thigh boards never went underneath my pants ever again.

Recent purchaser of C5's...looking forward to trying them in spring league!

What model pads are the pros using? I've heard "C12" being floated about, but I have never seen such a beast..?
