Yes, I just ordered a custom Thief pad with no graphics. You can call them to see what they can do, have them create it, then go with a dealer to order. There was an upcharge however.

graphics depend on what you want. basically you are paying for how detailed the graphics are and for the extra work involved. Graphics usually go on pads from about $90 to around $350 for something really elaborate.

we have already ordered several pairs for our stock and custom pairs for customers. They're called Brian's Custom Sports for a reason

Dx2s vs. Thief pads

Hi,

can someone who has used both pads tell me what the major differences between the two pads are?

I am using Dx2s right now but I may switch to some modified Thiefs for my next set.

Thanks in advance.

Before I place an order does anyone have anything to say about the new beast pads? I was thinking about them, but I was alittle unsure. Also does anyone have the picture of the custom DX2's they were playing cards. One was an Ace and the other was a King? Thanks!

My local hockey shop has them. I really liked them honestly but I dont like white pads im like dark colors. I thought it was a pretty cool idea id recommend getting them honestly if you like white pads

Lol, I was waiting for these to make their way here...

These are mine but, they're not DX2's ~ They're thiefs.
35 + 2 x 11

Straps are in custom locations (I had a few things changed by 1/2 inch) and they're amazing.

Pro-stuffed...Extremely light...

These are by far the best pads I've ever owned and they've changed my game entirely.

I also picked up a Thief Blocker//Catcher and had custom colors "match" the legs...I figured Black/White/White was the best choice so...

Incredible set...I've always been a Brian's guy and I always will

Masked, what was the upcharge for that graphic? I am probably going to be playing for a team called the Aces this upcoming season and I think it would be pretty cool to have two pads with the Ace graphic but I don't want the graphic to be worth more than the pads.

did you see my reply in my thief review thread?

both pads feel really good...if you have worn Brian's pads, you know what I mean, they just have a certain feel. The thief break better at the top, the chanel is wider as well. The DX2 has a straighter profile.

I don't really understand what you mean by a straighter profile?

Well, here's basically what happened.

I saw the DX2's live but, they were a king and an ace of the same suite (clubs if i remember)...and I thought to myself...you know, I'd absolutely love a pair of pads like that.

I was coming from custom Beast 2's and it was just time.

I called Brian's and presented the idea...They said it would be complicated and expensive...It would take about 13 weeks but, it was something they were interested in and we'd go from there.

I discussed the idea of the DX2 but, the top of the pad really doesn't "arc" in as much as the Thief and decided the thief was more my style.

They were $1500 and the wait began.

I had some straps re-located a bit, so I'm sure that was part of the cost...I had each strap moved about 1/2 inch up or down and the knee cradle was adjusted.

They're pro spec, pro stuffed...all that good stuff.

I'm so happy with them, it's amazing and I doubt 2 aces would cost you 1500, maybe somewhere around 1300.

Would definitely do it again...

I LOVE these pads to death and the layering on the jack is crazy. I'll get some more pics considering how many people have messaged me about them so, will have those up by friday.

The DX2 is built more along the lines of Lundqvist's Response...It's flat with a SLIGHT break above the knee but more of a stiff//flat profile//feel.

The Thief is more of a mobile pad that breaks above the knee...They're better for rebound control IMO and I like the straps better...
