NXI Loses Four Masks!!!!

In early October 2006, Steve Badger of NXI PMed me and very graciously donated a brand new Phantom, with certified cage and custom colours, to one of my foster kids, in response to a thread of mine titled "Can You Help These Kids?"

The 16 year old who was set to receive the mask was stunned and happy. He has FAS and is not too trusting of adults, having been through the system all his life. He's a great kid, but cynical about people who are paid to care for him. This made the mask even more of a shock to him, as it is probably the nicest thing anyone outside the system has EVER done for him.

The mask, though, never arrived. Steve was surprised, but took my address again and said he'd ship another one out in time for Christmas, which was awesome.

The mask, though, never arrived. Steve said it was turned back at Customs due to something in the tape on the box being red-flagged. He said he often gets more scrutiny due to the name "NXI Defense Systems". He took my address down, again, and said he'd send out another mask, the third.

That, too, never made it. I alerted Steve to this in early June of 2007. He was a lot calmer than I would have been after losing 3 masks in the mail. That's a LOT of money down the drain!!!

Steve said he'd send out another mask ASAP, by UPS. He asked me, again, for my address, and said it would be shipped the following Monday. I left two phone messages, a PM, and an email, but I guess Steve didn't get them, as I haven't heard back from him.

I feel awful that Steve has eaten the cost of four masks! Even worse, UPS said it can't find a package emanating from NXI to my address over the last three weeks.

Can anybody help?

Steve's got to be fuming mad over that many masks being lost.

Hopefully, that can all get resolved and your kid can get his mask and Steve can find out what the heck happened to the ones he shipped.

I always hear that Steve is a great guy so I'm sure he'll do whatever he can to get you what he promised. Maybe he can try a different shipping company.

I feel bad for the youth, who has been waiting and waiting, and for Steve, who's lost several hundred dollars worth of merchandise. It doesn't seem to worry him, but it DOES worry me.

I have a backup Heaton 6700 mask that I'm not using. As soon as my Stacey arrives it's yours if you want it. I'll eat the shipping on it too. I work for UPS, although not the parcel service, that sucks big time.

I was going to clean it out and sell it... but how about this... I won't clean it, but I'll send it to you...

Yup, thats customs for ya. Viper tried to send my pads, rejected by customs, tried again, they sat in customs for 3 WEEKS before they resumed shipping to my house. Its getting awful, I can ship anything to Canada, but Canada cant ship goalie equipment, without it first being scrutinized top to bottom.

Thank you both! He's currently in a cracked Itech 1000, so a replacement would be awesome, as he's playing ball hockey in a (viciously chippy) church league.

Dre, if it fits a 7 3/8 ridiculous G-Unit "Born Pimpin" hat, it would be perfect. He plays ice with some of our local Junior B kids, so as long as it protects his impulse driven, oppositional brain, that would be perfect.

Au contraire, mon frere. I had a Stacey mask shipepd out to me on 06 JUNE, and it's still not here, despite transit time being 6-7 days. Customs has it, but they won't tell me anything, despite me having an inside connection with Canada Customs, they won't even admit they have it.

edit: Kev, it's a pretty good quality brainbukket, so no worries there, and I really have no use for it aside from selling it to buy more gear for my spoiled self. Now, if this girl had been, oh, 18-22 and a handful, I'd say we do a trade...
