So, his coping strategy for his weakened self-esteem seems to be to ignore the fact that the Mods have jobs, kids, families, and the need for occasional sleep, and gleefully ORDER us to correct every misplaced thread he leaps upon at 4:00 in the morning.

Being blunt isn't being a jerk, unless you're in the running for a political office. Unless of course, if you're a Kennedy, there is always an exception to the rule.

While I absolutely agree with you, does that make it ok for him to get a vacation- warning when all he said was, "Do your job"? How is that any different than how he normally is? Is Foxton really that thin-skinned or was s/he just targetting a specific prick? I'm going to assume the latter, and while I'm not a Ryeno fan, I don't think that's particularly right as a moderator.

He's still right. Instead of arguing with him, just move the stupid post to the right place, delete his post where he's being a jerk, and go on with your day. It would make the whole process so much easier. I'm sure he hit the little notify button on the post as well, when he posted his remarks.

Yes, Ryeno was a jerk. Film at 11. Foxton made it much worse, and never had to do so. That makes Ryeno a jerk, and Foxton wrong.

I'm not sure, to be honest, but I do know he doesn't say that for the betterment of the GSBB. He says it to be a jerk. He revels in it, and it gets very tiresome.
Whether or not one is thick-sinned or thin, nails on the blackboard (and that's Ryeno) get hard to ignore.

Once again - I agree with you about Ryeno's character; it does get old. But if you're going to moderate a board that is relatively tough (idiots and kids), you better be thick-skinned, otherwise you're going to get run over and end up looking like a whiney baby. And if s/he really is going to lose his/her patience, s/he probably a. could have done it over PM instead of making him[her]self seem "tough" and threaten to hand over the ban-hammer and b. shouldn't have done it at a comment that basically questioned his/her ability.

I still think Soritong was the worst mod ever.

I like Ryeno. He doesn't sugar coat or PC anything.

Subtlety is lost in the online world.

Ryeno tells people the truth, which is what they don't want to hear, and that's why they have issue with him. If hearing the truth online hurts that much, I'd hate to see what they're like in the real world.
