Which makes him, yes, a JERK. Again, a JERK.
And for those of you who missed it, a JERK.
I agree 100%. Ryeno- you are not a mod. You are a member on the board, just like myself, thumper, guest1, and punisher. Do something about that in June, if you have not already alienated 75% of this board.

I understand you feel like you need to be on the "Citizens Watch" to make sure your block is protected against the mistitled thread, posts, or the no searches...but in all honesty nobody wants your company if your going to be nosey and rude, and nobody is out to steal your plants.

Subtlety is lost in the online world.

Ryeno tells people the truth, which is what they don't want to hear, and that's why they have issue with him. If hearing the truth online hurts that much, I'd hate to see what they're like in the real world.
Being truthful and to the point is completely different than being a tactless jerk off.

Speak for yourself...some of us agree with him.

Do I think he should be a mod?? Nope, I think a moderator should be an active, participating member of the community he/she/it moderates....and Ryeno isn't all that active except for his 3 line posts that inflame people.

Do I think he's on target with 90% of what he says? Absolutely. I think every community needs to grumpy old fart who sits on the stoop telling the kids to quit playing in the street and the dogs to stop pooping on his lawn. Ryeno is our grumpy old fart.

If you don't like what he has to say, ignore him. The board has the tools to empower yourselves, use them. If you choose not to ignore him, then you choose to see what he says, and you can't bitch about it any longer. You have the power to stop seeing what Ryeno (or me for that matter) has to say. Use it or STFU.

Anyone who thinks Ryeno is too harsh needs a reality check.

We have mods, yes. Are they always here? No. Can we police ourselves a little to keep their workload to a minimum ? Yes. We do it all the time. Grammar nazis, spelling nazis, punctuation nazis, proper forum nazis, and many others.

Ryeno is no different.

It's nice to see a touch of truth out there, without it being candy coated for the kiddies.

Don't want Ryeno to flame you? Don't post anything stupid.

Well at least you are aware of his limitations. Ryeno was not a team player on the mod team. You would never know he was mod except when we had to go clean up his messes.

In all fairness the general membership does not receive Ryeno's wonderful reported posts. The are nice and inflaming too.

He comes across as a prick and I suspect in real life if he carried himself that way he would be eating more than a few knuckle sandwiches.

Well, that's just him. It's NOT ok for him to be a jerk, but OK for people to ask the same queston for the 250th time without ever doing a search?

Take it or leave it. At least he isn't gonna BS you with some wishy washy answer. Like it or not, I've yet to see where he posted the truth when it wasn't needed.

The world is full of dopes. You pick and choose your battles wisely. Sometimes you accept the weak minded for being just that and move on. No need for responses.
