I am currently using a 3/8 cut on my skates.
Here's my problem,
I have my skates cut very deep so I can stop on a dime when I t-push. I REALLY drive into my pushes too. I have a lot of leg strength so I automatically push very hard. The down side is that i have a difficult time shuffling. It takes almost as much effort as doing a t-push. I tried 7/16 one time. I was able to shuffle pretty well, but I had a hard time with stopping after a t-push. The skate would tend to slide out when I tried to stop, causing me to lose balance or even fall.
Anybody have any suggestions on what cut I should try on my skates. The difficulty of shuffling is starting to hurt my mobility as I start to play in much faster leagues.

Just try not to put much weight on your lead leg when shuffling, and make sure you partially rotate your ankle so the blade is flatter on the ice. Just stick with it, you'll get better.
I use 5/16ths and get my skates sharpened before every game, I weigh about 200lbs (6'2" tall).
