Here is my son (fatpad00) in the Mike Smith pads we got. Not too bad as he had only been in them about 5-10 minutes and they are 2-3 inches taller than his pads. Not sure if the puck is inbound or outbound.
When he first stepped on the ice with them. Not his normal fly stance, he is just looking down to check out the overlap. These are 35+2 and his R8s are 33+1. After a few minutes in the the overlap wasn't so bad (see pic above).

Hei , tnx I indeed played 4 out of 5 games in Hungary, but i didnt play againtst you guys.
Will you make the U20 Team this year?
This season i had a chanche to see Hrelja and MEIERDRES play in WC U20.
They both looked good.
I think next year The Netherlands will get to first division with U20 for sure.

No.. It's fine. That's a reaction butterfly, from farther out. It's fine.

yes but if thats your butterfly on slap shots, deflections or anything within the face-off dots you need to get your glove and blocker down on top of your pads, which will
1. Close up all the wholes.
2. Make rebound control a lot easier.
3. With your blocker down your stick will be at a angle where the puck will deflect OVER the net, i know i used to have problems where i'd deflect the puck off my stick and IN. Trust me here you dont wana do that

and another thing, just to add to all that is right now you have your glove back in your stance, which is okay but if you get that glove in front of your body, whether you're in a reaction or blocking butterfly the puck will have less time to get higher, and it will become very hard to get scored on when you're in your butterfly. It took me a long time to really hammer down on this but as someone who does it constantly it's something im proud of in my stance and something i actually get compliments on who knew

the glove is in a fine position for a reaction type save. Shot from further away and for anytime you have a chance to read and follow the puck into your glove.
I would probably make a slight change. keep your elbow locked where it is, But move the gllove forward. from here it looks like you have it almost on plane with your head.
Moving the glove forward so it's in front of you would put the glove in your line of sight, making glove saves a little easier as you wont have to movve your head to track the puck into it

Sorry guys I didn't put more detail in my other post, it was a quick one. You want your elbows locked in anyways. But if I read your post correctly, you said to have the stick at more of an angle? That is incorrect, as Keek's said you want it like a 9 Iron. Slight edge, but not that much. Also, gloves always in front of you, elbows locked and you should be rockin'!
