i was preaching how their butterfly doesn't seal the front of their pads

don't confuse tight knees for sealed butterfly.

there's a nother strong reason to keep yourself tight together. you have room to move outwards. use your muscles to explode outwards towards a play. if you're really stretched out to your max already, you can do nothing but pull yourself in tighter, which limits your ability to "lunge" or explode towards the puck

thanx for the comment but I am not nearly to my max i am very flexible. I can make my bfly muchwider if wanted(dont want to though!)
and zay the reason for taht is probably the way the straps are cause my buckles are placed over knee and thigh. and my knee buckle is tighter and the top is looser probably causing the whole pulling in thing. I dont even know how i wear my pads depends on how i'm feeling really.

I can take 5 minutes and set up the greatest butterfly ever on my kitchen floor.

Or just drop....but still it will be nothing like me on the ice.
I agree completely. I can get a perfect seal easily on the carpet, but on ice I have to actually try and seal my butterfly.

iuf you look at almost all the photo's so far posted here (and yess, carpet fly is not the best judge)

we're showing off "hey look how wide i am and my pads seal up!!!" but our knees are far apart to acheive that.

the sacrifices to your skill to maintain a "pretty fly" are not always worth it. good stick work. Close knees, and the ability to be exlposive can easily compensate for that inch gap. if you look at the photo of giggy i posted. the big cap between his pads is nothing because his pants and knees are closed together sealing a giant gap. His stick takes care of the very small hole if any. it works for him.

I know when i look at my photo *reposting

I HATE it. i see my stick and it's too angled rendering ti minorly effective.

my gloves are too "out there". the catcher shuold be sealed against my pad and my blocker further farward to allow for a straight stick. my knees aren't together enough for me.

this was aken from a hd video of me doing Y thoery breakaway slides. if i was trying to stop a deke to my blocker side, i'd have left under my blocker completely open by being so sloppy with my hands

This one I'm sitting a little lower than usual for a close-in, rapid fire drill.

A little closer to my actual bfly, but my gloves are lifted up reacting to a blocker side shot.

In the middle of a bfly drop.
