Smith should have switched the positioning of the blue and the silver.

I decided to look up the other nominees.

For goalies nominated for the 2008 Masterton Trophy, list is as follows (james mirtle: 2008 Masterton Trophy nominees - A hockey journalist's blog):

Chicago: Patrick Lalime
Columbus: Pascal Leclaire
Pittsburgh: Ty Conklin
St. Louis: Manny Legace

Yes it is, but he now plays for Nippon Paper Cranes of Asia League Ice Hockey (not the NHL anymore, but if he did he would still have to sit out the last 4 games of his suspension for the slash on Johan Franzen in the stomach).

His new knee wing / landing gear is different. Go to getty images and find something more current, you should be able to find a good picture or 2 of the new set up.

He did that because he was asked to do it. To protect Kriprusoff and send a message to the Wings. Kipper never took off his mask while on the bench, everybody knew McLennan was there to cause damage and send a warning. He did it for his teammates and not because he's crazy, did it for the team.

Fair point, but that doesn't make what he did right or acceptable.

If you blow the pic up it looks like it has the same stitching on the Palm as the Velo. I just don't know why it doesn't have the logo on it.

Yeah that was great. I laughed so hard.

I fully back it. God forbid us goalies stick up for one another.

Hard for the Wings not to fall onto Kipper when the Flames were knocking Wings into him the entire series.

When is the league going to put a stop to that Datsyuk's damn goonery!?

Based on the little video bit that TSN or Sportsnet or whoever put together a few years ago on McLennan and Luongo in FLA, it seems like McLennan would do anything for the starting goalie.

no. it is finished. if you look at his back plate. you will see it is a sand based background and has a name written in the sand..

HA!!! come on!!!!

YOu know how it works.....

You skate as fast as you can and charge the net and go between the dman and the goalie and you let yourself get pushed/fall by yourself on the goalie.

Regardless of whether that slash can be defended, Jamie won the Masterton in 1998 after overcoming a crippling bout of bacterial meningitis.
