Removing crease paint from pads?

So this rink where I play pickup is poorly maintained and I guess they paint the crease too close to the surface so all the ice shavings are blue and it's dying my pads! Is there a way to clean this? Mr Clean's Magic Eraser isn't working.

(hard to see because of the flash but it's pretty bad in person)

It's the front of the pads that count anyway!

funny i just had this happen to me a few days ago and i was thinking of searching for the "worst crease ever" thread. ironically, it's a brand new rink and not only was the ice in the crease down to the blue paint, but in the net you could touch bare concrete. i asked the ref about it and he said, "you don't skate in the cage so don't worry" this is the Dedham, MA rink btw where CM will be playing their home games next year. anyone else been in there lately?

anyway, might be too late for you now, but for future reference what i did was grab a towel from the locker room and wiped down my pads on every whistle and not let it dry. seems to have worked.

Play standup.

For real though, the crease paint is water soluble, and biodegradeable, if they are painting with the correct paint.

As mentioned wipe it while it's still wet, and residual should come off with denatured alcohol. Just make sure you rinse that too, afterwards. I've never had ill effects on any colored jenpro, but never say never. (I don't have any China materials, sooo..)

Fast Orange actually works pretty well, too. (Even comes with a little scrubby pad attached to some bottles)

Good luck!
