Buying a new glove?

Last October I bought some unidentified CCM glove from the local play it again sports store. It has been sufficient up until now, but never more than that. The one strap on it was in the wrong place, so I adjusted that and added 2 more so that it wouldn't slip off my hand. I am pretty sure it was reaching its end when I got it, but now the whole thing is just falling apart, with the synthetic leather on the outside peeling off, and pretty much every part of the glove can flex, even what you don't want to like the palm. Today was the last straw with this piece of crap, I was playing with my clubs Bantam team as a favor to my coach and I swear every single shot I took was a stinger. Not to mention the coaches shots where once I swear almost broke my wrist. By the end I was just flinching on everything, and got lit up top shelve like a christmas tree. Now I am looking for a new glove, for Junior level which is what I will be at next season. I've been looking at the pro-level gloves since I hear they come with higher protection than the senior level ones? Also I am quite short on cash, and can really only afford about $100-$150 for it. I know that buying gloves in a really personal thing but being in South Florida I really have no where to try them on (I am never going back to that play it again sports place, its a joke). I was wondering if you could post the models that you guys have had good experiances with.

For $100 - 150 / built like a tank gear, I don't think too many people would argue with a used McKenney glove.

They are certainly available for that price and last and last. Certainly not ultra light / and certainly not lacking protection.

Here is the only one on ebay at this time - sized Pre-Lockout

NEW McKenney Instinct 855 Goalie Catcher Blu/Wht/Sil - eBay (item 360052834112 end time May-22-08 14:33:38 PDT)

Do you guys think that the CCM Blockade Glove is sufficient for U17 Junior C hockey?

Blockade Pro or Blockade Sr?

& If it is the senior glove, i'm sure it'd be ok if you can take a couple of stingers every game. Of course, I don't exactly know what level Junior C could be compared to so I'm not entirely sure

Yes its the Senior Series one, and Junior C would be the equivalent of Midget, however down here we get players from all kinda of level so you get the same variety of shots as say, beer league.

I'm sure that glove would be fine then. From my experiences with CCM senior gear, it's quality stuff. Not Vaughn or anything but still great stuff.

Pete Smith will pretty much make the glove any way you want it. And just so you know, the 1000, 2000, and 4000 models all are the same glove, the only differing factor being the graphics. The 5000 model is in NHL spec, if that was a factor in your decision. There's a ton of great reviews on Smith products, my set is due to ship out on Tuesday.
