Farrell Sports?
Hi folks.
My goalie coach sent me an email this morning about this product. It's like UA but with protection near the ribs and the neck are. Has anyone tried this? I can't seem to gather enough reasons to buy this.
120.99 $
Farrell Sports
Apparently Jonathan Bernier used it .

JB is playing at a different level than you. I hardly see it being worth it for that price unless your C/A is crap and if that's the case, invest in a new C/A.

Who cares if I don't play his level? I guess you do make sense , if you have a crappy C/A then yes you should get it. Just throwing it out there, didn't think I would need to be told I dont play his level. Don't wear RBK because you don't play in the NHL. Yeah, right.

i would so wear one of these,
its just extra padding, incase your chest pad shifts, and you get hit there, its not gonna hurt as much ,
And "JB is playing at a different level than you" probley the dumbest thing ive ever heard. just because someone doesnt play AHL , or NHL , or CHL , etc. doesnt mean we shouldnt wear this.
im not trying to start ayhing , just voiceing my opinion
and the price ( 120 ) isnt that bad, theres neck guards for like 150.

I think the RBK neck/clavicle shirt retails for $115 here in Canada, and it doesn't protect the ribs at all.

$20 says that they will make one of those Zoombag shirts with the "reAsorb" material covering the whole chest and shoulders and it will be used as the new NHL spec chest protector .

1. Pro goalies wear cups.
2. I'm not a pro goalie.
3. Therefore, I should have no need to wear a cup.

Also, I do love Farrell's player shoulder pads. I know a couple guys on the Oilers wear them.

Yeah yeah I think they look nice but I just don't feel I have a need for one you know. I had one of these, used it once, then never bothered.
Rbk RTC Pro Throat collar
Way too hot and I just wasn't a fan. Ill try and ask my goalie coach if he has one and ill check it out.

I like the looks of this better than the ZoomBang. The Farrell material is really amazing in its protection to weight and flexibility ratio. The player shoulder pads are sick, too. I think under a proper C/A where the impact can be spread over a larger area the foam squares of this will be really effective in reducing virtually all chest and rib stingers. Arm protection with the same cubes would be uncomfortable and unreasonable. If they are like the player shouldies at all, they are excellent for widespread impacts but less than stellar for puck/stick impacts and the like. With something over it, I can see this beibg a solid product.

I didn't mean arm protection, there are no sleeves- major turn off. Same as the "Neck
guard."
I've seen both materials in person and although the blocks are light, they are just too bulky to be used as secondary protection IMO.

Dang,
Thats a great product....... Though it needs sleeves... NO sleaves means chaffing at arm pits... If I would have seen it before and it had short sleeves, I wouldn't have bought a new c/a... The only reason I got my new c/a was cause of the lack of clavical and rib protection. These new super shoulder wing c/a's don't suit well with me and I am not liking the break in process....
