VAUGHN 7400 PADS ... durability ???

I'm looking to obtain some feedback from anyone who has these pads, could you please let me know how many times you have played in them and how they are holding up? I play twice a week all year long and just want to get some kind of idea on durability.

Thank you for your help,

THE GATEKEEPER

Thank you for this info, I had already searched & found his review and I did ask him this same question however I did not get a reply. It was very nice of you to go through the trouble you did & I appreciate it.

Have a great day,

Thanks . If it helps in anyway, I have Velocity 3 7500's and they've held up very well between inline and ice. The only blemishes I found were a little wear near the inside toe of the pad, and a skate cut the front of the toe on the left pad. Those don't affect the way I play at all though.

This is just from looking at them, but they look to be the best senior level pad IMO. That said, I do not think they will hold up compared to a pro level pad, in this case the V3.

How many times are you on the ice, and what level do you play?

You can't really go wrong with Vaughn. For a senior pad it is probably the best and most durable one on the maket.

The biggest factors to making the decision are your weight, level of play and how much ice time the pads are going to get. If you weigh 200+ lbs I'd sway towards the pro level pad, as they use more durable foams. Additionally, if you play or plan on playing in the next couple of years at a high level, go pro level pads. Also, if you play more or even equal amounts of ice to roller I'd go pro level, as ice tends to wear the pads down more rapidly then roller alone. As the pads become wet it causes the jenpro to loosen. In the past, I only played roller and had a pair of Koho 560's. Looking back those pads are stiffer than my newer V2's that I use for ice/roller... The only variable change is ice usage... Hope that helps....
