yes, anything "unpleasant" to happen to your gear is accepted

I know what you mean, a few times, depending on where in the city I might meet people after a game, I have considered going way out of my way to drop my gear off at home first, or just not go out for this same fear. I have had dreams about my car with gear getting stolen......I wonder if insurance would pay for all new gear

The answer, in BC anyway, is no. If it's not a stock part of your vehicle, it's not covered by your car insurance.

Your gear can be covered by your house insurance, though. You just have to add it as a clause in your coverage. My gear costs $0.88 a year to insure (I've got it covered at $7,000).

So, if your gear gets stolen out of your car, you have to file a police report, then take the police report number to your house insurance people, pay your deductable (in my case $500) and you get your gear back, kind of. YOu have to go out and purchase all the gear again and then get riembursed for it (again, depending on which insurance compny you go with).

So I leave my gear in my car when I go out after games.

Unfortunately my Jeep was recovered 2 weeks and 5 days later. After 3 weeks the insurance co totals it.

On my way to a practice on an awesome spring night we took my buddy took his pick up got me and we threw our stuff in the back. he was driving alittle quick hit a bump on a bridge and there goes all of our stuff everywhere across the bridge. Luckily it was my roller pads and they got ran over and stuck beneath the guys car, looked like a cheese grater got taken to them for hours on end. His bag ended up in the river and floated pretty far away got it back though. couldnt find his sticks though.

my bud also had his leg pads fly out of his pickup on the way to a tournament in upstate ny. had to buy a new set at the pro shop, exact same colors and size, pretty lucky. but some how the person who found them and gave them back a month later.

My cat peed on it. Luckily, this happened like 10 years ago and it was mostly equipment in its last legs. So replacing it wasn't too sad, since I would have had to pretty soon anyway.

But hockey stink + cat piss is an absolutely vile, unholy combination.

Mine beats anyones here. I had just got my custom colored vaughn v3 pads in white orange in black, had them for about a month. Went to my high school league game in a town about 2 hrs away in my dads pickup truck. we brought my friend home after the game to a farm where he lives. somewhere along the way my beautiful leg pads fell out of the back of the pickup truck and where run over and picked and found by the sheriffs deputy the following morning. This all happened yesterday. now im screwed.

That sucks. Now if you have to get new pads and get them custom colors then it's gonna take 12-14 weeks or something like that.

P.S. Why are you playing high school hockey in July? We don't even have try-outs until the end of august.

To me: When I was going to elkins a few weeks ago, Air Canada left my gear in Montréal. I missed the first day of training and my gear came in later that night. At least everything was there in the same condition i packed it.

To this kid i know: He had to fly to a tournament. He had a huge hole in his bag and all of his gear fell out of his bag somewhere between destinations lol. He lost all of his gear and had to buy all new stuff right away, and go play in a tournament. At least he wasn't a goalie :P

My fiance and his buddy Graham decided finishing off a case of 24 beers in one night would be a good thing. The result? Him projectile vomiting from the basement stairs, through the storage room where my hockey equipment was stored, to the bathroom. My C/A took the brunt of the "abuse" and required a thorough cleaning. A couple of jerseys got some puke on them too.

You've got to love stomach acid. It stains

Lesson of the Day - Keep your hockey equipment at least 100 feet AWAY from the nearest bathroom! If not, the results could be absolutely disgusting

Probably the wrong thread for this, but one time I went for a nasty huge burrito (Taco Del Mar) and then straight to hockey. I got hit with a slapshot in the belly, threw up just a little bit in mouth, turned around to spit it out and get a drink and then as soon as I tilted back my head to to get a drink, I puked hard into the air and then into my crease.

Two of the most awful words I can think of... undigested beans.

Had you left the tailgate open or did they hop out somehow?

Senior Goalie Legpads online at The Hockey Shop Source for Sports - Canada

I dont know how fast they are but I think you can get the +2 sizing without getting them customized.
