How to distinguish jb-2100 NHL Spec and non NHL Spec C/A?

Ok. I'm bying a jb-2100 from a gsbb-member.. The problem is that I want a NHL Spec c/a but he's not sure if it is. And we don't know how you can find it out..

Could anyone help?

I think his 2200 line is pro spec. The 2100 was the older line and non conforming.

Get pics of the chest. If it has the yellow RAISED ridges especially around the shoulder floaters and elbow its not legal.

there should be no puck ridges on the shoulder floaters and the elbow blocks should be about 6 inches wide. the 2200 is the nhl spec c/a but he also makes the other models in nhl spec, I have 2 2000 c/a's from john one is nhl spec the other is not.

Just go to the john brown website. There are photos of all the products and you will see the difference. The difference in shape of the shoulder floaters should be enough to tell....... from.happy 2100 owner

It may not be that simple. He did some 2100 models on special order in NHL spec. I've seen some pros who wear them. They still have the yellow parts on the floaters but there's just no ridge inside them.
