Bauer XIX vs. RBK 3K
Okay, I've done some reading of reviews, and they're basically all over the place. I'm hoping maybe I'll luck out and there will be someone here who has worn both of these skates and maybe has some insights. Our local shop only gets goalie skates on special order, so unfortunately I won't be able to try them on, but here goes...
I currently havea pair of RBK 3K skates, and there are some definite things I like about them, but a couple minor issues as well.
The skates fit alright (maybe a tad big), but they feel loose in the ankle area, even when I tie them tightly. They were comfortable from the get-go, so no issues there. The biggest issue is that our local shop where I get them sharpened only has one type of jig, and I'm down to about 2-3 sharpenings max before they won't be able to sharpen them anymore. That's a problem!
The Bauer XIX skates I've found online for $139.99, which is a steal. I used to have a pair of Bauers (from about 1994) before the RBK, and I've always liked Bauer skates. I've come up emptyhanded trying to track down a pair of 7000s in my size. I wear a 12 shoe, and I think I need a 10-wide skate (the RBKs were clearanced and a 10.5EE, hence the slightly too big feel).
I'm strongly considering a pair of the One75s as well...but the price of the XIX seems to good to pass up at this point. Does anyone have any insight? Am I better off suckign it up and going with the One75 skates, or will the XIX fit the bill for the time being?

Get the XIX's, as njt42 said though, dont expect them to last too long though, mine fell apart after 9 months, the blades also rusted and i took good care of them.

Hmmm...that's not very reassuring. If they fall apart after a year, I may as well have spent the extra hundred bucks on the One75s...

Get the one95's or you could go the cheaper route, and grab some XXX's.

Yeah my XIXs were crap. They had to be recowled 3 times due to the cowling breaking on impact from the shots And they unstiched everywhere, and the tounge split in half!!!
