Sliding better on chewed up ice?
I play pickup hockey twice a week....45minutes into it the ice is pretty chewed up. Is there anything I can put on my pads to make them slide better (yes, i did a search)?
Obviously, I have to keep working on leg strength...but is there anything to make my pads slicker?

scotchguard works wonders for me. Apply it liberally every 4-5 ice times along the gussets of the pads.

armor-all has been known to leave a residue on the surface. If you switch sides, your counterpart may not be too pleased with you.

Silicone Spray
No residue, slides awesome.
Now I haven't tried the Armor All, but the Silicone Spray has worked perfect for me.

Don't spray crap on your pads and screw it up for everyone else. Chopped up ice is part of the game. Get better digs and push harder. It will make you stronger. Don't take the easy way out.

1. He's a pickup hockey player.
2. Scotchguard doesn't leave any residue whatsoever.
3. some pads, especially those with more hybrid design, don't slide at all in the first place. My Koho's barely moved at all until I put on some scotchguard.

Does it matter what bottle?
The only green bottle is outdoor stuff, is that right?
Scotchgardâ„¢ Outdoor Water Shield
Also it was said above use it 4-5 times, are you allowed having it on the ice? Like is it legal to have the bottle on top of your net during a game or am I missing something?

Yes, you're missing something...but it's OK.
You put it on, and let it dry. Then you go play hockey. Then you put it on again, let it dry. Then you go play hockey again. It's not something you keep applying while you play.

WOw I'm a douche, haha. I'm sorry, I need to read closer. In that case, another one of my questions...how long does it take to dry?

Nah, not at all. If you haven't used it, you won't know.
Not long to dry.

I like to leave it to dry overnight, personally. But I'm sure you could get away with 3-4 hours beforehand. Though, with my Smiths I've never needed to apply anything -- they slide like a dream.
