Vinz Decals - Custom stickers & graphics. Quality decals.

They sell rolls and per yard of just about every color imaginable. It holds up extremely well. I've had it on my mask for about 2 years now. Numerous puck impacts, no issue. High gloss finish.

This is the stuff I believe they use to chrome the masks on a lot of pro masks (Nabby's and Turco's). It's 3m Vinyl.

Would you be able to post some pics of your helmet? I am curious if you had them make a design or if you bought your own roll and cut your own decals?

Your mask looks fine to me.

Jesus, if I can't see your "flaws" in close up pics, how the f would anyone else notice?

black & white looks sharp.

It's pretty apparent to me but I guess that's the price I pay for doing it myself :P.

I know this was not directed at me but here are some I have done, using a sheet of vinyl an exacto knife on a cutting board. It takes a long time by hand to do it right.
The trick is to print the design on the back side of the vinyl sheet, from your printer, to then cut out.

A wolf design I copied from Leblancdesigns. It would have been alot easier to just buy his.

Now my mask has the Homer and on the other side in a similar style a Bart.
No picture of the Bart yet.

Note: The images have been resized by imageshack so they do not look as smooth as they actually are.

well it'll just be a paper on the back so aslong as you print on the back and not the front then you should be good to go.

I am low tech. I cut a piece of vinyl the size of an 8"x11" piece of paper and feed it through my printer. Print on the backing of the vinyl. You want the vinyl to stay nice. Your printed design can be messy, it does not have to be perfect. Then carefully cut out the pieces.
Like it has been said before the biger the piece you are trying to stick the more difficult it will be. My designs are mostly smaller pieces to make the whole of the picture.
I took my time cutting out the images and took my time sticking it to the mask.

The biggest issue was the ear graphic due to the shape of the mask, it just wouldn't properlly smooth out! I had to cut it a bit and even overlap it. Doesn't look very good and I'm not proud of my work but it's fine for now, got too impatient lol.

Two problems I had was that I was sent a bear claw with 4 claws while the other had 5. Leblanc realized this and will be sending a spare. Also I was given a teeth graphic for only one side and didn't have the mirror side! I didn't realize this until I already put on most of the decals so it looks as if I'll be rocking a 3/4 complete mask. I had to do a lot of modifications and improvisations to get these to work on my mask.

On to the juicy stuff, PICS!

Note the missing pinky claw

Here we have all 5 claws but no teeth

Teeth close-up, this wasn't too bad

Worse part due to lack of skill. Overlaps and blasted bubbles!

Top view. Had to cut and re-work the hair to fit properly...came out okay

With the cage on

Overall I still recommend Duane as he's great to work with and no complaints. He'll be sending me the missing pieces sadly I'll be playing a few games without them until then...Another note was there was an Itech vinyl already on the mask which I had to scrape off to fit the claw. Some of the graphics didn't fit and had to be cut or placed strategically to fit properly. It's my first time doing this and the genius that I am, picked a hard graphic to do lol. Ears overall was the biggest issue cause it's large and on a very uneven surface.
yo man this loooks reallly good, how much did it cost?

Wow! That looks awsome! I wouldn't worry too much about those little imperfections because once you get on the ice, nobody will get close enough to tell. Once I'm done of tryouts and find out what team I'm going to be playing for, I really want to get a set with my team logo on each side.

Cost me about $52 in total, which included shipping and all.

I should be receiving the other missing graphics shortly and I'll re-post pics.

That's probably part of it, along with the time and effort they have to put to your mask and send back. Also depends on the complexity or what you are doing I suspect. Mine was simply just white and he had already done a Potvin paintjob before, perhaps this cut the cost I don't know...

That looks really good, you did an excellent job applying the vinyl. With practice you'll get better, but it looks great. For bubbles you can pop them at the edge of the bubble with a needle and work the air out from the other end. Did you try the wet application?
