I been wondering actually, if I bring my mask in to get cleaned where they put everything in that cleaning cabinet thing, would that do anything to the vinyl!??! Mask has been stinking lately, getting complaints from the family and gf

Helmet Funk
Get a spray bottle and fill it up with 25% rubbing alcohol and then 75% water. The smell will go away. Trust me. I did it with my old and new Referee helmet and it worked wonders.
I tried that cabinet thing where you put your equipment in and it destroys the bacteria. That was all BULL!! Next game I had to Ref the smell was back when I was in the locker room after the game.
Use the alcohol and water deal. You will thank me later. Use it on all your equipment. It will kill that smell too.

Sounds like that should work. I did the cabinet thing twice before for my gloves and the smell would come back in a game or two, it wouldn't completely remove the smell either. How much should I spray with and do I just let it sit or wipe it off?

Chad, if you haven't found anything yet, there is a chain of places around the area called FASTSIGNS. They can make up vinyl decals for you. I've had them do up window lettering for my company cars in the past... should be pretty simple for them and inexpensive.

I used to work in a sign shop and I still own a vinyl printer/plotter so I'll chime in with some comments. I mostly use the vinyl cut to logos etc for stencils when I paint.
The trickiest part of vinyl is the application. As someone mentioned before the best way in my opinion is to use the wet application method. Although someone mentioned using plain water with soap in it, I really dont recommend it. The soap will most likely cause issues with the adhesive and can cause adhesion problems. The actually sell many brands of specific application fluids to apply vinyl. The application fluid actually is made to promote the adhesion of the vinyl while soap will inhibit it.
This is the way that I usually apply vinyl:
Clean surface with rubbing alcohol. I usually will wipe down the piece twice to make sure I get all great etc off.
Using a spray bottle I apply the application fluid. You can get this stuff from a sign shop or a place like a sign supply shop online, I get most of my vinyl from signwarehouse.com
Apply the vinyl from the center outwards. This makes getting bubbles out easier. With the wet method you should be able to push all the bubbles out. If the design is complicated on a curved surface you may have to actually cut the premask (the masking paper holding the pattern) to make it easier to apply the vinyl. If you are using the wet method you squeegie the vinyl and wait a couple minutes for the application fluid to dry before you pull the premask off.

Hi guys,
I'm wearing a Sportmask Ricochet, all black, and I'd like to put something on as a tribute to Pink Floyd. As a starving student, I can't afford to get it painted, but I thought a sticker/decal would do the trick. I've narrowed down my options to these two:
Sticker
and
Decal
Which one do you guys recommend? Naturally, I'd prefer it to be colour, but if the sticker will just come off then there's really no point, eh?

I'd guess the "decal" would be more durable, but at that price, you can buy one of each and decide for yourself.

The Sticker says Vinyl Sticker, so I assume it'd last a decent time. Buy 2 of each, and have some fun.

Vinyl by the sheet...
I am about to order some Vinyl sheets by the foot from a store on line that I found. I was wondering how many feet I should get if I am going to be making a design of a Dragon on each side of the helmet?
The design will be the same exact on both sides of the helmet. This will also be my first time cutting vinyl so I want to make sure I have enough so that if I mess up I don't have to go ordering more and wait for it to get to my house.
The place I am looking at sells $5 for every foot. How many do you think I should get?

I am working with Duabe as well
I have a white Itech NV7, do I need to remove the Itech logos as well? If so how do I do it without damaging the paint?
Thanks
