In a sticky situation, gear color issues.
I'm in a "pickle." I recently changed associations. I am in need of new leg pads. However, I just got a new glove and somewhat new blocker (before I knew I was gonna switch). These gloves are red and white, V3 blocker and rbk p2 glove. Unfortunately, the new team has no red whatsoever. Their colours are white yellow and black. I really don't wanna look like a complete idiot, regarding the colours. I thought I could get pads with yellow and white colours and maybe a small stripe of red to match my gloves. What are your guys opinions on the matter? What should I do? Are there any specific pads that could work well?
EDIT: I actually don't really care what the people think its more about my own preference thing... it's tough to explain

Id say just keep what you have.... honestly the colors dont matter unless you have the money to switch. see if there is a goalie locally there that plays for a team with the colors you have that would be interested in buying yours... then you can search for the ones u want.

It's ice hockey, not the catwalk runway.
Let your skills speak for you and your team and people will forget about the gear not matching. When you get the money, then you can slowly make things happen.

I agree with Cujo. Go with what you have unless you can find someone to buy yours off of you so you can get a new set.

Why do people care so much about matching??? Make saves, nobody cares what you look like. I wear red and white pads and our team uses powder blue jerseys.
Forwards are even worse, when I worked at Perani's, you wouldn't believe how many people would not buy shoulder pads or elbow pads cause of the color. It goes under your jersey!!! man forwards are stupid!!!!!

My pads are red, white and black. I sub for a green team and a yellow team. For the green team I look like I am ready for Christmas. Nobody cares if you stop the puck.

No one but goalies look at goalies as closely as we do. No one cares what equipment, brand, colours, or anything that we wear but other goalies, and not even all other goalies. Some goalies are like most player, and don't really care what they wear for gear.
I over heard a older teen aged goalie in the store with his parents talking about the high level he was going to be playing with the sales guy. They were talking to a player and not another goalie that recomended the new one 95 chest. The goalie who was purchasing was indiferent to the brand or model, tried it on and said good and bought it. There did not seem to be that much thought taken into his purchase.
The moral of the story, no one else but us who love gear, on the BB's, actually care what any given goalie wears, even if you stop the puck or not.
What I would do is keep the gloves and go with all black pads. Personal preference. But it is your choice and no one else is going to realy care.

i play for a team who has the the old Nashville jerseys before the whole RBK takeover, and i have red/red/white pads and white/white/ red gloves, and a red and white stick. i actually get compliments on my gear sometimes. you don't need matching colors to make you play better.

Worry less about the color of your equipment and the team you play for will buy you your new pads.
You write headlines for newspapers and websites? ???

or all white
i dont see the big deal with not having your gear the same color as your team jerseys.
like if you put out over 2 grand for custom gear get what ever colors you want ,not just to match a team .
colors dont matter its how you play
like everyone has said above me

If your going to get new pads get them in your new teams color. Dont worry if your catch and blocker dont match, so what. mine dont match, and i dont get any crap. My blocker is navy, silver, white i have orange black and white pads, and a black silver and white glove. my team colors are orange black and white.
