Personally I think that you should use them for what they were intended for, i'm sure Mr. Heaton would rather have one of his last sets used rather then have them collect dust.

They were originally made for his one season in Florida but he never wore them in a game. I remember them being posted in a thread by Brian Heaton's son GSBB member "Heater". I think they are cool pads and I'd probably just save them for a show piece personally.

For some reason I thought the sig was on the knee rolls. It's in a pretty low wear area, just be careful if you wear them on the ice that some goon doesn't run into you skates first!

Seriously, do you ever plan on selling them...No. I wouldn't.
Take a very, very good photo.
Invest in a nice frame and Mat board and put it on your wall.
You will forever be able to show them off and still play in them.
That would solve both problems as long as resale is not your intent.

Now go out and rip it up and say a little thankyou to you know who.
I'll bet you pull out some saves you never thought you had!
