Help me decide!!

I'm in the market for a decent protective blocker. I put a WTB ad up but not much response so far. I'm looking at the RBK 6K, RBK XPulse 7.0, and the Itech 7.8 X-Wing. Anyone be able to compare the 3. I play Sr adult hockey and don't want any more occasions where i can definitely feel the shot through my now flimsy blocker board.
Thanks all.

i'm trying to keep it to 140 or under including shipping. Thats why i brought these up. An online retailer has these 3 blockers on sale for 119 plus free shipping.... With the RBK premier I would spend 149 plus shipping, and if it's from the US.....plus duties and stuff too......it would end up being well over 200....

thanks guys, but i've already seen the deals on goaliemonkey, they are great prices, but i've bought a 79 dollar blocker from them a couple years ago, and by the time i get it in canada, i've spent 150 dollars on shipping, and border duties......
can anyone just compare the blockers i've stated?

Thanks anyhow for your concern though

The 6k and Itech are pretty flimsy. You'll feel alot of shots.

Never tried on the X-pulse But I'm guessing its flimsy as well. You can find really good deals on pro blockers in the classifieds.....

The X-Pulse 7.0 is a decent blocker. My back-up goalie uses one, and it felt really nice. I use a P1, and it was a little lighter I believe. I would have no problem wearing it for Junior league hockey, but I doubt it would hold up very long if you need pro-spec for under $150, I would rather go X-Pulse 7.0 than 6k. But if you can go old-spec you shouldn't have a problem getting a used Pro level one for $100+shipping.

Okay so now I'm confused. You say you want a blocker for around 140$ shipped and I suggest a brand new Pro model you can get for that price but then you don't want it because it will put you at about how much you said your willing to spend.

The blockers you asked about are all low quality senior versions and non are going to have that great of protection or durability. Do yourself a favor and get the pro blocker the first time around so you won't have to go through this in another year or two.

He does have a point there.. that TPS is a great blocker too, I tried it on last season and was about ready to run away with it!

hey, what i meant was a $79 blocker ended up around 150, i didn't see any tps pro blockers for that price, even if it was only around 99 or 109 it would end up at least 200 bucks by the time i get it.
Anyhow i have a lead on a DS UL3 for 100 bucks shipped, and from what i've heard, it's great quality.....regardless of the issues people have with the brand and marketing strategies they employ

The TPS Pro's are on sale for 89$. And I have bought stuff from GM while living in Canada and a catch glove ended up costing around 55$ to ship with all the fee's and stuff included. That would put you at 145$.

i would take the tps. because the gloves you wnt are about as much as the tps glove. the itech is more, the 6k is more. and the tps is a higher end glove and would be much more worth it. the 6ks and x pulse will still leave you with that ow. and th itech is more expensive than the tps. so with shipping, no mtter what you get, it will all amount to the same thing about. so the tps would be you best bet if anything

Well in my opinion you would be better off to wait an extra month or so and get one at a slightly higher price point.
I have an 8k set, and although I get some stingers on the palm of the trapper... the blocker is SOLID.

I can understand being on a budget, but if you want to have faith in your equipment you may need to spend some more.... or failing that, try and pick one up slightly used on ebay... there are tons of deals out there.

I have nothing but good things to say about the 8k gloves as well, excellent protection for the price and they've lasted two seasons without any wear besides puckmarks.

My 6k pads on the other hand which were a complete impulse buy at the proshop one day, well I can tell that i'll be upgrading next year for sure. I'll just wait for all you guys to buy PS3's so I can pick up your P2's for dirt cheap!

my 8k gloves have been unbelievable. i played a lot of hockey this past year and besides below average normal wear, and puck marks they have years left in them. epecially love the 8k glove, breaks in sooo nicely.
