Which NHL spec blocker has the best finger protection?

I was playing some shinny (with some young guys that can shoot the puck) in my old Reactor 4 blocker last night and took a shot off my index finger... It turned out that I fractured my previously injured finger again (different point of fracture though). I got my blocker beefed up after my first injury, but apparently it didn't do much good.

Doctor says I am off for 3 weeks... so that will give me some time to shop for a new blocker in the mean time. So I am just wondering if anyone can recommend a NHL spec blocker with great finger protection. I saw this Bionic blocker with regular player glove underneath the blocking surface... I thought that's a good idea... but it's not NHL spec... I am wondering if it's available in NHL spec (not that I play in a league that matters)

Any advice/recommendations will be appreciated.

I don't really know about anything else, but I would not recommend the V3 for this category. I get shots to the fingers all the time, and they hurt like hell, but no fractures though . Just not the best finger protection.

I would have to disagree. My V3 has never caused me problems. It has lots especially on the index side. I guess this wasn't the case for everyone though.

I have not had any problems with my V3, but if you're concerned about finger protection, the RBK Lefevre stuff is generally regarded as the best in this department...

when i used an rbk.... sorry REEBOK blocker, it had great finger protection, from the floating index finger pad to the way the blocks mimiced the way your fingers moved. great protection. My RX7, has ok protection. one puck snuck up the paddle and yeah owie for a couple minuites.

I love the finger protection on my Summit blocker. The top part of the fingers are like players gloves, and the bottom half knuckle is like a regular blocker protector...

And the sides are well covered a well. Although its not NHL spec... I dont know if the newer ones have the same style fingers.

any new blocker would be much better. I'm not sure of the best one, but any prospec blocker would definatly be more protective then a reactor 4
I have a Rbk Xpluse and it is great, no injuries thus far.

The shop where I got it beefed up at said that it's even better than a Bauer Supreme Pro after the mods. (He showed me a Supreme Pro blocker and compared it side by side). The fingers flap was about 0.5 cm thick before and it was over 1 cm thick after.

I am starting to believe that it may have to do with the way I hold my stick or angle my blocker.

I'd get the Itech 12.8. Great finger protection and feels amazing on your hand. It's very light weight and durable. I'd give it two thumbs up.

I've been using an SE2 blocker for a while now and I've taken two bombs to the fingers with puck marks to show for it without any pain at all. A+ finger protection if you want to give it a shot. It's really light and comfortable too.
