Pad Customization in Nova Scotia
Hi all,
I hope something like this hasn't been posted yet.
With the new minor hockey ruling about downsizing pads to 11" it won't be long until the NSWHL picks this up as well. The problem is that I have a pair of 12 " RBK Priemer II pros' that are only a season and a half old and will get no where near what they are worth if I trade them in.
Is there any place within driving distance of Halifax that will cut pads from 12 to 11inches?
I've seen places on the internet, but I am a little weary of sending my gear away.
Any recomondations?

Almost positive that the Premier II Pro's were only made in 11"

She does great work, but cutting a pair of 12's down to 11 and shipping from NS to the US both ways is not going to be cheap or easy - probably cost you 1/2 to 2/3 the price of a new pair.
Plus, floyd is right, I think all Premier 2's are 11's

It is possible that he got his Premier IIs in 12" width. During initial production of the pad line, they were to be 12" width. these pads were the stock, made for stores pad that could be produced and stored until release when they would be shipped out to stores. after the rule change, these pads were no longer available but there are still a few sets of Premier II's out there in 12" width.

Not worth having the existing pad cut down to 11" It is a bit more involved than opening up one side, trimmming an inch and closing again.
This rule has been coming for sometime and most thought it would go into effect last year, but was postponed by Hockey Canada as most minor hockey leagues weren't ready to make the changes.
In fact the MHL in Mississauga, has backed it off until next season, but if you play in a GTHL or other Ontario tournament you are subject to their rules, so it;s a bit moot.

Nope they are premier 2 pros. They are 12" as well. I have a pair of Brians 5XDs for ball hockey and they are noticebly slimer in the 11", and I find them a little easier to move in.
I really can't afford another set of pads of the same quality right now, so paying 1/4 to a 1/3 isn't that much of a problem to me at the moment. Plus I really like the pad.
oh and ps I'm a girl, not like that matters other than refering me as dude is alittle weird..lol

It won't be 1/4 to a 1/3, it will be more like 1/2 to 2/3, as it involves a total rebuild of the pad.
