Eddy LT catch glove review
I was skeptical of buying this glove from the start. I have used several catchers including Brown JB47 (it's been a long time, but i think thats right), Boddam (it was a good glove for the money), Cooper Legends (heavy, but once i got used to it very nice),Vaughn (original vision catcher), and Heaton (pre-sale to Karhu).
PROs
The Eddy is probably the lightest i have used in a long time. The pocket was fairly deep and well formed, and the glove's shape funnels pucks into it with ease. The glove had a good closing motion (not perfect, but good) from the start. It was easily molded (through tying) into the configuration i wanted. The palm is well padded, but not so much that you lose feel. The top of the Tee is a synthetic woven material (in strips) as opposed to synthetic leather. The glove does not hamper playing the puck in any way.
CONs
The thumb and pinky finger tie downs were not long enought to get a tight fit. Splitting the tie downs about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch fixed this. The blocking board is a little light weight. The glove wasn't as deep in the palm as i like, almost feels as though your hand isn't all the way in the glove. This may not be a problem, but a design as once the strapping is properly done the glove is quite snug (but still shallow). The sweat bands above and below the wrist are a little big, and can interfere with the C/A. This requires resetting some straps on the C/A and moving the sweatpads until a happy medium is reached.
Conclusion
All in all this is a very decent glove. It has performed adequately, and although a few mods were necessary, in a non-custom product that is to be expected. I would definately consider buying this glove again, when the time comes and would recommend it to other goalies as a low cost, but not cheap, alternative.
