I like the velcro wrist strap to be about 1 inch below the knobs of my wrist bones. If the wrist strap actually covers the wrist, it's guaranteed that the arm pad will interfere with my catcher.

Exactly!!!
Couple things...nice review. Can someone give me a profile look at the belly pad or from behind it.

Here: i hope this is what you were talking about.

how ironic- i should have gone custom with miller and the cm9.. about 3 c/a's ago, then i woulda never had problems, saved time, and money

Thanks for the input but this thread is about C/As, not gloves.

ok i've decided not to "re-review" because.. i have no bad things to say about this c/a.. other than the way it fits me.. (but that's just because of me)
great protection, didn't get a stinger for once.. yet great mobility.. i could flail my arms all i needed.
almost no break in time, i wore it today for the first time on the rink, and i forgot almost that it was a new c/a.. not my 3 yr old other one. (i did run a mile in it and wore it around the house for 3 hrs)
5 out of 5 stars for sure (this is minus the part that i had to do a bunch of arm mods so my arms could fit it, but that's contrary to the main point)

Glad it worked for you Oogs.
I think I should be getting a commission from Vaughn for this. Or at least some free schwag!

I bought mine second-hand (but not used)...no handouts for you!
Seriously though, thanks for the thorough review, it made it easy to make the choice to snag the 3700 I saw on GEW, and I'm extremely happy that I did.

3700
Ooogs and all. Yeah i finally got to see a 3700. For a "value priced" chest its a great buy. The only thing i think it would need is slightly more rib protection ala the 7000 with its rib/underarm flap that runs the length of the chest under the waist buckle. For the price and even without the mod a very well made chest.
