Hi Chester,
We can probably fit something on your 3700 to give you some protection around the ribs, approx cost would be about 45.00
hope this helps, Dennis

hey chester,
thanks for the info. i understand that i would have to purchase the unit first and then send it back to them. what i dont understand is why not just do it after they receive it and then ship it out to me with the mod already done. am i the only that thinks this way. i would hope not.

Common sense?
Like politics and taxes, common sense escapes some folks. Youve got me, id think if the factory had it in the first place, theyd be able to do the mod before it was shipped.

hey chester,
agree, common sense escapes people at times. even if they dont have it in their factory they can add that mod when they receive it from china or wherever they have their product made overseas. dont understand it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3700 units are shipped straight from the factory in China to the retailers, and the folks at Vaughn USA/Canada never see them.
The 3700 has roughly the same shape as the 5500 (clavicle floaters are the same shape, etc.), but there are some design differences; it's not just the same C/A with different materials. For instance, I prefer the split design on the elbow floaters/side protection on the 3700 to the one-piece design of the 5500.

I just picked up a recent used 5500 from another BBer and used it twice already. And I've been bruised in the ribs twice. I've never had this problem with my 3700.
Serves me right for choosing looks over function...the 5500 is all red.

How wierd is that !!! You'd think the 5500 would have that little x-tra to help deaden the shots...or maybe you just got unlucky on those shots alone
And here is one that confuses me more...the XP model is a lower model than the 5500 and higher level than the 3700, yet it looks alot less protective than the 3700 but priced so much more...???

I know that the pro shop I ordered mine from had it come in from the Vaughn warehouses in London, it only took two days to get here. Sounds to me that at least in Canada they end up at Vaughn for distributing after being constructed overseas.

my vaughn 3700 came straight from the USA vaughn dealer.....
OH yea and has anyone had problems lately?
it seems.. i'm not sure if the foam just degraded, or what, but the c/a is very, not as protective now. even just normal chest shots hurt. (which shouldn't happen at all)
it's not this, take the pain stupid stuff, its that, a regualar shot to the chest, shouldn't hurt at all.. maybe a bomber should, but surely not a wrist shot. especially wristers to the arms, and shoulders-- those not only hurt, i usually get a bruise from em. (that's JUST a wrist shot)

I hadn't seen this last post before, Oogs. How often are you playing? I've been playing three or four times a week for about as long as you've had yours with no troubles.
