Hello

I will also write a review from my Epic Trapper, as soon as I get a couple of trainings with it. Only one training so far, so it is si difficult to say anything else but this Epic trapper is very protective

Nice review on the Epic. Did you find that the cheater hindered you at all in puckhandling? I have tried it on but not on the ice.

That was easily on of the most organized reveiws I have ever read, I like the colours on the Epic as well, nice and simple yet sharp looking. Good Job!

I did not find the cheater to give any disadvantage at all.

I have an Epic catcher too, and I have been very happy with it. I had tried both the Velocity and the Epic when I was shopping for it, and I liked the Epic better. I also had a RBK Premier Pro and I like the Epic better than that.

I am selling it now, though, only because I just got a full set of pads and gloves from Smith (who, me a GW??? )

Anyway, if anyone is interested, it's on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=230037453341

How does the Epic compare to your Smith catcher?

The Smith is a lot more form-fitting. My hand had a lot of room in the Epic. Not that it hindered my play at all, but the back of my hand really didn't touch the inside of the glove. Of course, everything was held in proper place by the finger grips and the wrist straps. The Smith, on the other hand (oh my, a pun ), feels like it was custom made for my hand in particular, and someone with a larger hand than mine might find it too tight. Someone with a larger hand than mine could wear the Epic with no problem.

I also find that the pouch in the Smith is deeper and more pronounced than the one in the Epic. I would get the occasional pop-out with the Epic, but in one game so far with the Smith, every puck I caught stayed put.

Also, as many have pointed out in the Smith thread on this board, the hinging of the Smith is superb. The Epic's was good, but not as good as the Smith.

You might get the impression from the forgoing that I don't think the Epic is a very good glove. That's not the case. I think it is an excellent glove and I was very happy with it. It's just that the Smith is so much better than anything else I have used.
