I am pretty sure that all of these are made overseas. They had a hard enough time getting the stock model to market and it would not be possible to throw custom orders into the mix. Mass production plants a few thousand miles away can't change over for something custom as easily as local shop where the designer is in the same buiding.

Personally, I didn't like the Vapor xxx. It was so different from what I was using previously that I just couldn't adjust to it. The arm flaps are smaller than other c/a's so pucks kept getting by me under the arms.

I play highschool hockey and some of these guys can shoot just as hard as a guy in the NHL, but I wear one of the lower end McKenneys(atleast I think its one of the lower end ones) just because it fit the best for me, when Im in my stance I crouch low and the C/As body length is perfect but if Im standing up its a couple inches too short, and the arms are short if i just have my arms straight down but when Im in my stance there are no unprotected spots. I actually bought a pro level Itech that fit me perfect when I was standing, like how the store employee said it should fit but when I was in my stance it was uncomfortable so I went back to my old smaller one. I find if I take a hard slapper in the chest or stomach it wont sting me or anything(can feel it but nothing bad or anything) but I generally catch those anyways, generally only when its in close and Im down in a butterfly or something do I take it off the chest/stomach but those arent hard, dont even feel em.

Am searching for the perfect CA and thought I'd bring this thread back because XXX is on sale at Goalie Monkey and I am considering it.
It seems to have huge shoulder floaters and was wondering about the downward vision and mobility on this unit. From the review it seems very protective.
Would anyone know how this CA compares to a DS ******* unit?

Ive been using this C/A for a year now and i hate it, the shoulder floaters are too big and get in the way as well as hinder my head's rotation when I try to look behind the net on wraparounds, the arms are too short so I get some shots between my glove and the end of the C/A's cuff. I also hate the stlying, I have no clue what that fugly relfective crap is but that material does'nt belong on hockey gear! It's very comfortable in the abdomen area only and the protection in the arms and stomach is very good but i hate the big bulky feel and the large floaters. If anyone has an NHL sized RBK Premier Pro C/A PM me cause I want to trade or sell my Vapor XXX Pro.

Sounds like to me you did not get the proper fit for your c/a.
I dont think you should put something down if the fit is not 100% correct.
Thats like saying a pair of skates that are too big for you suck.

I am also looking at this very hard, i know a goalie that has this c/a and he loves it and says the protection is great, but he only plays D league and pick up, so I don't know if i can trust his word on the protection thing.
I tried it on and it is acualy pretty light, and feels really solid. and for $250 on goalie monkey it seems like a steal.
right now it's either ******* 994 or the XXX.

lol before telling anyone they suck know the facts, my Vapor XXX C/A is the correct fit, I bought it at Duke's and I had 2 of their guys make sure it was the best fit possible... Not my fault I dont like the fit after wearing it 1 year, I thought it would feel better once broken in but it never happened.
