i'm currently waiting on my v2 c/a to come in from vaughan, how ever long thats going to take, been waiting 3/4 weeks now... so i was thinking in getting the itech w-wing c/a instead.. would u recommend the itech over the vaughan or should i continue to wait? also noticed some of u said that the neck is a little dodge city on the itech and thats the main reason why i'm updating my c/a, i've been getting 1 to many hits to the collar bone and upper chest which my heaton 4700 doesn't really cover on me.

I have been using the X-Wing C/A for about 3 months now. In the first warm-up i took a puck to the neck......OUCH. I was thinking it does ride low in the neck and I was right. I since played with the straps and you are able to make it sit higher....I secure the velcro straps higher and that helps, but I also put my throat gaurd back on.

I got a 12.8 xwing CA for 225 from hockeygiant a couple of weeks ago. discounthockey.com has it on sale for 250, so I got them to beat it by 10%.
Its a really nice CA except for the same issues as mentioned above. Because its pretty form fitting, it rides up which is very annoying. The shoulder floaters get in the way of moving your head to see wrap arounds etc.
I'm also using the exact same combo--9.8 pro pads, hp pro elite pants and 12.8 xwing ca.
The piece comes with two loops for tying your equipment down. One in the front and another in the back. Unfortunately, unless you're using a size too small, or you're all torso, tying it to your belt doesn't do very much, since your belt likely overlaps with the loops.
I've been running a shoelace from the front loop to the back one, underneath my crotch which is working, but its pretty uncomfortable to have a shoelace riding up my backside. Anyone have any suggestions?
As far as the neck goes, you could not safely wear this piece without a dangler in my opinion. I wear both a dangler and a neck guard, and I only feel safe when the thing it properly tied down.

I have a 30-32 inch waist, and I have a pair of size small HPPro. I like my pants to be 'fitted'... in other words, not really loose and not really tight. I wear my C/A untucked and no suspenders. I had to work with them a bit and break them in, but now they feel natural. I also moved that abdominal guard that goes over the laces to the inside of the pants and they feel a lot more comfortable.

I wear a dangler and a collar guard, and a shot still snuck through and hit me right in the throat. I wear the thing tied down, and really shouldnt hae any issues. Its obvious to me that the collar is so low so that you can move your neck, but its seemingly quite dangerous as it is. I'm considering modding the thing to compensate.

I tried that one on and really didn't like it. So I picked up the Prodigy Elite...and LOVE IT!

I'm a 32 inch waist and just bought them in a senior medium, they fit pretty good. I think subjective though. Thank you GM (119.00)

i hope they beefed this unit up since it was the Prodigy Pro model.
after about 6 - 8 months of use, while it is a very comfortable form fitting C/A. it's protection has diminished greatly. You will start to feel almost every shot to the midsection, and some have even left me winded.
Itech did a great job with the comfort level of this C/A, i don't think they did a suitable job with protection in the sternum. a Good C/A for low level play, But anyone with a good slapper and you will feel it.
i have taken shots that I didnt think were particularly strong that have dented the foams in the shoulder caps even leaving me wih bruising. Most shots direct to the chest leave a small bruise or tender spot.

anyone have an idea on the sizing of the 12.8 c/a.
I'm still using my old itech 8.8 in a large which fits me fine, but it's way too bulky for me now.
(just as an idea, i'm a 46" chest 36" waist)

I'm a 42 inch chest, my size L fits well, if a tiny bit long. The XL wasn't an enormous stretch. I think height is more of a concern. If you're 6 ft or taller i would recommend the XL
