Tried it on today - 5'11 180, fit in a large. It fits kind of tight; I think 'snug' is a better word for it, but I didn't play with any of the straps. Seemed VERY adjustable, so you can get it to fit however you like.

Had it next to a V2, looks like they trimmed the profile on the shoulders a bit so your shoulders aren't as wide. Arm blocks are the same width as a V2 Pro Spec. Rib protection was solid, but seemed to get in the way for me. Again I only threw it on for a second, didn't really play with the straps...but I did notice the rib "triangles" are adjustable.

Exclamation I'm wondering what size to get?

Hi I'm going to be ordering this chest protector or the Epic 8800 but i dont know if i should go with a small or medium because on the vaughn website it says i fall under the medium category at 5' 6.5" almost 5' 7" and my wingspan is 68 but I'm only fourteen and still developing muscle so my shoulders are not bulky yet and my arms are noodles and my entire body is rather scrawny but I recently made the Maine state team and I am going into high school next year at a prep school so I need more protection. ( My mom wants me to go for the larger size so it will last longer because I am due for a growspurt ) But the last thing I want is something I can't move in and the chest protector going so far down my arms i can barely put my gloves on so I was wondering if the V3 is really so adjustable that I would be able to go with a medium and by the way great review and thanks for all of the pictures it looks like a great chest protector!

I would imagine you could get away with a medium, but how much do you weigh?

I only weigh about 125, or 130 pounds or around 60 kilograms but I am hiring a personal trainer over the summer to build muscle.

Then I'd go medium for sure. I'm in the same weight class and I wear a medium in Vaughn and *******. (matrix II and 3700 vision).

You shouldn't need a personal trainer to build muscle, maybe a onetime consult in order to setup your workout plan, and then spend the rest of your money on food and whey protein shakes. Personal trainers are pointlessly expensive. I've been doing this for 4.5 months and I've gained over 10lb's in muscle mass alone.

Chowie, A personal trainer will help but understand that you won't be able to gain that much muscle mass until your testosterone levels kick in. Varies from guy to guy but i gained 2 inches and 50 lean pounds in a year when i turned 16. Be patient, you can't rush mother nature.

Thumbs up

that looks nice, i just got the V3 7400 c/a, its great it's extremely light and is great quality.

i recommend it for anyone who likes the V3 C/a but doesn't want to pay the price for the 7500.
