shgoalie5,
as far as those extra orange floaters on the shoulders go...is it the same shoulder setup as the epic 8800/8000 except for the addition of these things?

Just wondering, I was maybe looking into getting these for next season, but what's the price range for these, if you don't mind my asking, or you could send a PM?

On the pictures it seems liek you cannot move the arms, a lot of other C/A have some strapping system there. but I can't see any on the v3. so just wondering is it short on the arms? and do you look big on the shoulders like let's say Luongo and Lundqvist and price?

Very nice C/A I think I'll get it to next season if it fits with my XXX pants

Has anyone else used this c/a? From all the positive things that have been said about the unit in this thread, I am seriously considering purchasing one. However, I would prefer to have a few more opinions. A c/a that has perfect protection and mobility with no cons just seems too good to be true.

Beef up the arms and shoulders on a custom order, otherwise it's a bit weak.

I tried it on a couple days ago again at the store and was more amazed than the first time I saw it. When this breaks in it'll feel like a nice sweater. I placed an order for it from Total Hockey but canceled it because I'd rather give my local store business plus it is cheaper at my local store as well (but with tax comes out to be the about the same price). It is remarkably light, and the back fits me so much better than what I'm currently wearing. My current c/a has a tendancy to bunch up around the back of my neck.

My 2 cents ; I ordered this chest protector from Goalie Monkey. I got the chest and I also bought the V3 pants. I've only worn the chest protector once so far in a practice. I'm in mid season and I won't change pads till next season. I have to say I'm impressed with the unit.. Though for an XL it seems to fit me tight. I think its more then large enough but I'm used to a very free flowing Heaton 5. Its very protective. On par with my H5 when brand new. I did notice the arms are not adjustable. They are totally sewn into the unit. They are VERY long it seems. I'm 6'3" and I don't have the monkey arms to use this. I am thinking about bringing the chest protector to a shoe maker to have him cut 3" off each arm, Then put some eyelets in and use skate lace to make it adjustable. ( Still this isn't an expense I believe I should have in buying a new piece of equipment. ) Overall. I think this chest protector is great. I'm finicky with my chest protectors.. I always end up modifying them a bit. I might contact Vaughn to see if they will make the adjustments for me. I think someone at the factory forgot that arms on everyone are different and need that part of the pad to be adjustable.
