thats one solution, thanks,

ALSO, i found one more problem.
i noticed that the arms were kinda long and it was getting in the way when i was trying it on with my catcher/blocker. does anyone know what i could do, in order to make the wrist of the C/A sit a little higher?

thanks again

The RBK is made offshore- and in my opinion is much more flimsy than the Vaughn.

Having said that I do have access to both units daily, and being a "RBK" guy (pants, gloves, pads etc.) I do think the Vaughn is a better unit.

Yes im a RBK guy too and i would have to agree with you, when it comes to c/a, Vaughn has the upper hand, just seems like theres better mobility with it.

I have a 993 C/A right now and I wouldn't mind switching to this C/A since I've had more than a few stingers on my forearm. How is it when looking over your shoulders? How does it breath vs. the 993?

Looking over the shoulders is fine. Seems to be alittle bit better breathability wise. I do have a few action shots from the first night I wore it but I cant find where they are.

I am seriously considering this C/A, but like all of you, the arms sit a little long. What did you all do regarding the arms? Did you just get used to it? Did you shorten them? Did you fold over the material to make them shorter? etc

thanks

when I tried it on in the store I was really worried about the arms being to long but as soon as I got out on the ice I didnt even notice how long the arms were. It felt really natural and didnt bother me at all. I think the problem for me was more the size off the arm floaters more then the length of the arm because my glove cheater would interfere but as soon as I got on the ice it didnt bother me at all.

I went from sherwood 9980 to a 7500 about 2 months ago. I've played about 10 league games in that time. The break-in time was so much shorter than the sherwood and the protection has been doubled. My confidence has been doubled knowing I'm not going to break a rib when I challenge a shot. I've won 9 of my last 10 since I picked up the V3.

I wear it outside of my pants and I thread the pant laces up through the bottom flap and tie it in through the loop. Arm protection is good, but I haven't been hit hard enough in the arms yet to make a judgement on that. It didn't take long to break in, only about 3 games before it became just another piece of gear. It moves with me and I'm still mobile.

The only issue I have with it is just in the armpit region. There seems to be a gap there between the rib triangle, the floater and the shoulder protection. A couple pucks have found the hole and left me uncomfortable to say the least. I do wear an rbk pro collar with the shirt thing under my chest guard. I've taken an old thighboard and cut out some blocks that I will sew to the collar. It'll be a working mod I think and it shouldn't interfere with the c/a.

I'll post some pics when I'm not so lazy.

I recently got the V3 C/A and have had a few chances to skate in it. It's hands down the best piece I have ever worn. Great mobility off the start and no problem with junior, college, and pro shots. I purchased perhaps a size too big getting and XL and was worried about the extra arm length that I have been hearing about. Im 5'10 and it does feel maybe a bit big without full gear on, however with my blocker and glove on the arms actually fit perfect and I am someone who doesnt go for the oversized fit. I've had a couple of opportunities to throw the RBK PII on and I find the V3 to be far more comfortable and have better mobility. The unit is also incredibly adjustable and can be resized for all builds and body types. Its the only piece of non RBK gear I own so I am not being biased, its really a great choice.
