Vaughn Velocity 7000 cup review

I bought this vaughn cup about two months ago due to my other one being a two years old. I decided it was time to move on. I use this for both ice hockey and lacrosse (I am a goalie in that too). Just let me say I have never felt a thing from getting hit in either sport. In hockey I get hit there with the puck frequently and never feel a thing and in lacrosse it has saved my future more than a couple of times. Also I have gone through more than the baseball bat test in this cup during indoor lacrosse. When I was carrying the ball out for a clear some guy gets a full wind up and drills me there with his stick. I never felt a thing and just kept running. This is a single cup system and I don't wear another jock under it. It is extremely comfortable and reasonably light. Also, this doesn't hinder running very much so that is a plus if you play lacrosse. If you want pics I will post them, but I believe it is pretty standard on most websites. It is normal goalie cup price at 60 bucks but the future is worth it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Is this jock really mobile? I am going to buy a new jock tomorrow, because my RBK pro is starting to get a tad old.

I have the vision 5500 jock ...basically the same design as the 7000, just different materials.

Totally protective and mobile jock.

Thought about the epic, but the thing's like a massive cod-piece and way overkill.

7000's great.

Damn, my store was sold out of the velocitys, so I just picked up the bombproof epic. It actually feels more mobile than my old rbk.

Sorry for not replying. I thought this died when no one commented 4 months ago. Vaughn cups are great you will not regret buying the epic. I have had no mobility issues and I am sort of a flopper so this is not coming from a strict butterfly goalie. I have the 5500 and 7000 they are both great.

Sweet! I can't wait to use my epic tomorrow! Not that that's weird or anything.

I have said it before, and , I will say it again!

They are you're nuts. You only get one pair (your whole life). Your significant other will thank you for spending your $$$$ wisely.

DO THE RESEARCH!

Dont make a rush decision.

It may seem humorous, the way I put it. It Is Nothing To Laugh About.

Who's nuts? Whose nuts? Your nuts! (I won't say you're nuts; that would be rude.)

canaman34, I don't have to comment on every jock review any more; I've long ago liberated this BBS from the tedium of embarrassment about jock straps and goalie cups. Now if we could only standardize on the words we use to refer to the tender dangly bits...

richardsevigny, how does the Epic compare to, say, Brown's 721? That thing's a tank, but it works so well for me that I've stopped investigating new goalie jocks.

dannyho1: no, just something to squeeze your knees together and try not to be obvious about putting your hands protectively over your groin as you read another goalie's stories about painful cup saves.

My epic jock is a tank!! I took a hammer and hit myself and it didn't even hurt! The jock works very well with my heaton 8 pro pants.

Much as you try to "Jocky" around the subject.

I still cringe at the thought of a fellow goalie going out on the ice in a "WalMart" strap.

My wife cringed with me, and , we dont even want to have kids some day.

PLEASE, PLEASE, goalies. Spend the extra TIME and MONEY to protect the "Most important" piece of equipment, the "GOOD LORD", gave you!

You spend hundreds on "The Head On Your Shoulders".

Seriously.

You would spend $500.00 on a helmet, Right.

You wouldnt spend 20% of that to protect your "BABY PRODUCERS"?

THINK OF THE FUTURE, NOT JUST THE NOW. The Economy Depends on It.
