I vouch for the reputation of Brown. I bought a used Brown c/a non pro-level 6 years ago and it's still in amazing shape. I've only repaired it twice and it was loose stitching on the neck collar and the back strap buckle stitching was coming loose (from wearing it tight).

Any stingers on the arms? My RBK Premier is killing me with shots right under the elbow. I have put in additional padding but still that seems like a real design flaw. Also did you order with the neck collar. It looks like the collar comes way up, am I mistaken?

Thats a great price.. grab it for 400 if you can.

yes, i hope this CA turns out to be the one..
i used it tonight and it loosed up after 15 mins.. and i am very happy with it.

No stingers, as mentioned many time before.. this thing is bomb proof.

I got mine off ebay dirt cheap.. no collar
size large , brand new.. it fits like a glove.. not too high or too low
just perfect fit.

Jim

I don't remember if it had a collar or not.

I got this same model for $400 at hockey heaven in colmar, pennsylvania. I think this is the best ca in the industry. I have been pummeled almost everywhere on it and have not felt it. This product is worth every penny.

I think you can deal with the store owners if they have it sitting in stock as opposed to ordering one.

2100 --> 2200

Hey I have a question about the 2200 in relation to the 2100 pre-lockout spec, which I have. I really like the 2100 but I am interested in the 2200 because since it's NHL legal I'm assuming it's a little smaller; and I would prefer a little less bulk.

For anyone who is familiar with the two chest protectors is it noticably smaller, if so which parts are smaller; and is it any less protective? One reason I'd like to downsize is because of the arms. The pre-lockout spec has really bulky arms and I'd like to fit into more of my jerseys. That and I'd like to be a little more mobile.

John also makes the 2000 and the 2100 NHL legal so you can get it either way now. The elbow and shoulder floaters is what has been down sized and they told me the easyest way to the them apart is the new NHL legal ones that the yellow is still one the outer edges of the floaters but it is not raised up into a ridge. Also if anyone knows of where I could get a NHL legal 2000 or 2100 at a good price let me know.

I was just wondering, if there is much difference between the 2200, 2100, and 2000, besides the big chest plate?

From what I understand, the chest plate is the difference between the 2100 and the 2000, while the 2200 is the top end pro-spec sized unit.

So, general differences with the 2200 would be that it would have smaller elbow floaters, and no raised ridges on the shoulder floaters. I've also read that the 2200 arms are stiffer than the 2100/2000 arms.

John told me the 2000 and 2100 are better fitted to stockier frame bodies and the 2200 fits thinner people better. All 3 are top of the line. The 2000 and 2100 are also being made to the new rules. The 2200 and 2100 both have the larger chest plates. The differance between the 2000 and 2100 is just the size of the chest plates.

my 2200 c/a just arrived. i got it from wesco for 409 USD including shipping (w/o collar; they didn't have w/collar and i don't think i would've wanted one anyway). it's an amazing c/a. thanks to jsankner for referring that place and to natesdad and jim for answering my questions. in case anyone was wondering size-wise, i am 5'11" and 165 pounds and the medium fits me well.
