I have a feeling you might have gotten a custom C/A. I am looking to buy one of these and now I am confused as to the bottom 2 rows of blocks on your LG vs the single row on the other 2 LG models. I will email the pics to John brown and ask him.

He said"its a large with one extra row of blocks"

so it was a custom order.

I tried calling Browb, but he was not in, so I dropped him an email and he has not gotten back to me yet. So, either way, you have an XL body with Large Arms. I would still see what John says because I do have a feeling you might have gotten an XL

Can,
the original owner said he ordered a large with an extra row of blocks.
A XL would be bigger (wider) in the shoulder area as well.
And its not, its a custom CA.
Large body, large arms, extra row of blocks..
Cheers
Jim

Nope, the XL is just as wide as the Lg. Infact the 2200 is more narrow then the rest of Browns models, so you have an XL body, Large arms.

Per John after he saw the pics:

This looks like an XL chest and arm. You can see the arm plates are shorter on the other pics you sent me vs the one with the 2 rows of blocks.

I measured the Large for you. And from top of neck to very bottom, it is about 21"
The XL is around 23"

John

And remember, the XL is made for 5-11 to 6", not like other places

Any questions?

So since we are about the same size, I will end up ordering an XL.

Brown C&A

I have a Brown 554 C&A which is the same as the 2100. I'm just over 6'2" and I wear the XXL which fits perfectly. Great unit for those of us who don't need legal stuff. I got it for $350 at a clearance last year as it's an older (but new) model that lost its retail sex appeal to the 2100 and 2200 sets.

Now that it's nearly a year old, NO problems with mobility. It was quite stiff in the beginning, but I barely remember that any more. I don't think I'll be able to switch to another C&A in the future.

I have the XL 2100 and, at 6', I never had a single issue all year. I did have one buckle shattered by a shot but I found the break-in took only a few weeks and no problems at all moving. The extra confidence dropping in front of point blank one-timers is priceless and with it I'm friggin' huge...btw..I had a custom from John, extra padding added around the back of my lower arms so I don't break my arm slamming it into the posts while scrambling. BEST PURCHASE EVER....

Just played in my 8 game using my new Brown and it is still a little stiff but man you do not feel any of the blasts in this C/A. I took a couple of good ones in the chest area and nothing. I am 5'11" and I took John's advice and went with a large. An XL would probably have worked but the L fits great. Now if I could get the hang of playing with a collar I would be in good shape. Patience I know.

azdave,

Ditch the collar and wear a Maltese. it's way more comfortable and protective. When I used the collar on my Brown I was constantly getting hit in the fabric area where the collar attaches to the C/A. Unfortunately that's right at the collar bone so it hurt like hell. Unstitched the collar and started using a Maltese and it's way better now.

If it is possible to second, third and fourth this statement I will. If you think about it removing the collar from the c/a and having something that can move independently of it and WITH you makes much more sense. Tucks nicely under the beak of you mask as well.
As for the Maltese it has saved my azzz from pucks, sticks and skates numerous times.

I will X4-5-6 that, but with the RBK tee shirt neck/clav piece under my brown 2200. Works great and the protection is second to none.
