new epic 8800 glove vs old epic 8000 glove
Besides the difference of the NHL spec, i found my epic 8000 to have a wonderful break in it. since mine is the older model it's got the cheater on it and it's larger... but i don't play in a league where they measure.
What i did though, is modded the T-trap with skate lace. I put in non-waxed white and black skate lace in there to deaden pucks. When i played monday night that glove just absolutely killed out there! every time the puck was caught i felt the puck die and the break was so tight that bounce outs were next to impossible Here's some pics of the mod and let me know what you think :

I've thought about doing that, but I'm afraid I'd end up getting the other lace out and then not being able to get the new laces in right. For the record though, how long was the lace you used?

Skate lace tends to be softer than regular lace and it stretches more. So it gives the pocket a little more cushioning.

If you really want a 90 deg break, then it's probably best to go with a RBK or SWD glove. I'm not sure that Vaughn would be really interested in completely restructuring their design for a single customer.

I used a 120'' skate lace for each side of the t-trap (that means 120'' on one side and 120'' on the other)
The weave is also a part of the rest of the glove...it just ends at the bottom of the "T". you start there and how i did it was, i just followed the skate lace while simultaneously undoing the original lacing. it's quite hard but if you get the hang of it you will know how it works. also, because you can't go much further than the t-trap... once you get the lace in the trap and you are starting to get into the glove's lace, tie it up and burn your knots together so they never fall out!

Tried this glove on in the store and fell in love with it. Regrading the break in it was almost like those pre-owned BMW commercials (except the other way around ). But this glove is amazing, closes nicely is light yet still protective. I am adding this glove to the long list of gloves i wish i had.

I have the new 5500 with the V3 design from GM. If he compares the new 8800 to the 5500 then the puck playing is great. You get a great tight grip on the handle or paddle of your stick either going turco or just regular. It doesn't slip of ever. Hope that helps a bit.

Hi guys,
Just wondering, I'm playing with a V3 right now, every time I play it is like a rebound galore, I know for a fact that it aint me because when I still used the 580 pro, there were hardly any.. Is the Epic better at controlling rebounds? Or should i go for the ps2 90 break? (though I hate RBK because they killed koho). What do you guys recon?
tnx,
Danny
