Update:
The Passmore glove has infact cast a spell on me.
So yesterday on my way into work I took the Passmore blocker and put it on the passenger seat in my truck. I somehow needed it's company... like I'm sitting next to a legend. It makes me happy. Sorta like the movie Cast Away.
Nevertheless, when a glove is within arm's reach, and has the name "Passmore" on it, you have to try it on.
So there I am driving up 95 through Philly wearing Steve Passmore's blocker.
What a thrill.
My hand stinks.

This is by far my favorite ever posted on the board. Please keep us posted on the odyssey that will be 'the Passmore blocker'. I can hardly wait as to just what hijinks and shenanigans lie in store for you and this legendary glove. 'everybody's talkin' at me, I can't hear a word they're sayin', I'm just stoppin pucks with Passmore's glove........'

A few years ago i saw a feature on a hockey show about equipment reps. The Vaughn rep was talking to (among others) legend Steve Passmore at the Hawks training camp after Steve Passmore had returned several trappers he was not satisfied with. SP told him what he wanted changed and the Vaughn rep made some notes on what to change.
He obviously knew that the future of Vaughn depended on SP wearing their gear.
The moral of the story is that Steve Passmore is very, very fussy about his gloves. I'm sure that is reflected in the quality of the blocker.
Awesome review by the way...

Living in the Chicago area my whole life you can imagine the thrill of growing up with the local legends, Walter Payton,Michael Jordan,Ryne Sandburg,Frank Thomas and of course the immortal Steve Passmore.
Yes I know we had Belfour and Hasek at the same but thank god we made room for Passmore.Maybe Savard can use him again, dump Habby and give Passmore the reigns. Remember the roar,Cold steel on ice, Red Rising come on back Steve,we need ya

That's brilliant, man, really funny stuff, yet still a good review. I'm looking for the matching pads starting now.

Passmore On The Bench
Last night I had a doubleheader of roller hockey games.
I rolled into the rink with my wheeled bag and through the doors meant for little kids going to a roller skating party. You know, the ones with the large kangaroo painted on them...
But I couldn't do it with my Steve Passmore blocker.
No way, no how. How low has Steve Passmore gone where he's playing hockey at the local roller skating rink? I couldn't do it to him. I left the Eagle blocker in my truck. Too ashamed of the rink.
This is Steve Passmore's blocker.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
While in the rink I thought "What would Steve Do?" while taking warm ups.
I looked around at all the banners for "Rodeo night" and the famous "Wednesday is Family Skate Night" and said to myself, "Steve Passmore would just suck it up and smoke these fools".
So before the game I skated out to my truck (only in roller hockey) and put on Steve's blocker. As I returned to the rink and skated through the kangaroo emblazened doors, I could see the friends and family members of the players all looking at me.
"It's the glove" I thought. These locals never seen an NHL player this close, let alone his glove.
As I skate by the rink manager's desk, I show him Steve Passmore's glove. The manager is speechless... problably starstruck.
I get back to the bench and onto the floor. The eyes of every player is on me.
"It's got to be the glove" I again think.
So the game starts and I basically 'smoked the fools' for Steve. I inform the other team after the game that they had the honor of shooting at Steve Passmore's blocker.
We even pose for pictures after the game.
Again, the best $20 ever spent.

Please keep these Passmore updates coming. They put a smile on my face. To think that you get to share sweat with legend is definitely worth $20.

I just stumbled across this thread and had to chuckle to myself. I was Steve Passmore's back-up the year he broke all the records for minutes played, shots against, et. al. He was tiny. 5'9" was being generous. He was a great guy to be around and a great competitor. We had many fun nights on the road...... I think I still have some of his gear from when we played together. I wouldn't have been a good back-up if I couldn't scam a whole lot of free gear!!!! Keep us informed about the infamous blocker.
