Good luck, those RBK's are gonna give you one hell of a headache.

I picked up a pair of these pads from The Goalie Crease on eBay. Very cheap price ($250 Canadian), and yes, they are certainly not as high quality as a Canadian-made pad, but I have really liked them thus far. It has taken a few ice times to get the right adjustments, but once you find the right strap settings they're great.

It will be interesting to see how long these pads last though. I hope to get through at least a couple of seasons.

oh, i don't know. big difference compared with my 'Vision' pads, in size and color. i'll just patch them up if they start breaking apart. or better, bulking up the strappings since i hear the straps are flimsy. shouldn't be too bad when playing 3x/week.

that's what i meant by a headache! almost every strap on my pads have either torn off or have worn out quickly or both! most of my straps are put on pretty loose too. i've done alot of sewing and replacing lately to keep them together. you'll be doing the same thing soon believe me! i've had these things for a few months short of a year, and simply hate them.

i think i will probably post some pictures here soon as a follow up to my original review. my pads are holding up pretty well over all after getting a replacement set in december. my straps seem to be holding up for now, but Daemon is right, the "leather" ones will seem to wear very fast.

i havent really done many mods other than add an extra knee stack and superglue the stitching around the toes to prevent fraying (per Bishnou).

with all that being said... i'm always on the lookout for my next set. i want them as soon as i can embezzle the money out of my budget to buy'em!

I don't really like the x-pulse 6.0s, no offence to those who do, but i like the 8ks and prem 2s better.

I would agree. I don't own any of them, but if you look on GM the C/As(RBK pulse and CCM vector) are EXACTLY the same minus the different colours, from the gimped little triangular piece to the shoulder floaters.

no buyers locally, i will have no choice but to donate them to the local recreation dept., along with the VAUGHN pads and the EAGLE catcher/blocker. i thought i would stay up here for awhile but now i realized that i am not welcomed because i'm from another town. tried selling through here before, but the high shipping costs would only turn away potential buyers...
