994 and Matrix 3 catcher and glove

Arrived a few days ago and I haven't tried them on the ice yet but this set is awsum!!! These are 994 with Matrix 3 gloves. Out of the box the 994 are easy to bend and very flexible. I am amazed! The quality of stitching is very well done not one stitch is out of place. I put the 994's on and tried some carpet hockey without one adjustment these babies closed the five hole no problem. Very flat and the new thigh board takes a bit to get used too but it works really well by protecting the knee. I find these pads very light and the thinning at the top makes the pad very flexible. The adjustments were easy to do. I adjusted the leg channel to my liking and also the knee cradle which took about 20 minutes. I can't believe it was that easy and simple to do. These pads are now customized to me and it all took about 30 minutes to do. WOW!

The Matrix 3 catcher is very light, it can close but I will have to work it a bit to snap shut. Inside the catcher is very comfortable and the adjustments are easy to use and I had my set up in about 5 minutes. I like the deep pocket and I tried shooting a few pucks in the back yard and it felt sweet. Nice grip on the stick as I play the puck often. I also noticed it is vented very well. I can't wait to try it on the ice.

The matrix 3 blocker this is probably the lightest blocker I have ever had. Very thin profile but full of protection IMO. The blocker feels solid for paddle down protection and is comfortable.
few adjustments are required but they are there if you need them. This blocker is just sweet.

rating pads 10/10
rating catcher 9/10
rating blocker 10/10

I can't wait to see on ice pics. Just get ready for the ******* bashers. Probably also a few guys are going to flame for this being in the review section.

Your review will be fine as long as you add to it when you get on the ice and tell us about how they feel. Also, don't forget pics.

A 2-month, 6-month and 12-month review would be great too, so you can accurately tell us about durability!!

I have had the original Matrix Blocker for about 3 seasons now and I LOVE it. Light weight, great protection and Awesome durability!

Hope the Matrix 3 works out as well for you!

This is in the wrong place. Until you use it on the ice more than a few times, it's not a review. Doesn't matter who made the gear.

as long as you make a real review with performance of the gear, it will be fine, i wouldn't have graded the pads yet since all you've done is adjusted them and done a few carpet flys and everyone thats excited about gear will give it a 10, me 2 anyways don't forget the pics!!!!

hello. I was up in Fort Erie at the store for ******* the other day (exactly a week ago, actually) and i was allowed to try on the ******* 994 as well as play around with all of their glove sets. Although i only did like, a hundred up-downs in them (lol), i must say that they were incredibly comfortable. I like how they have that furry-like material on the inside where you put your legs, soft materials make me go gaga, idk why, lol. They were also WAY more lighter than my ******* 993s, although that may be just that my 993s are 12" while the ones i tried on are 11". They were easy to go down in, and they felt freaking great. As for the gloves, i tried on both the ul4 pair, the 994 pair and the matrix 3 pair. No offense, i couldn't stand the matrix 3. For me, at least, it was weird, because usually i love double-T trappers, but this one for me just doesn't feel comfortable. I think it has to do with the placing of the pocket. I loved, however the 994 trapper. It just.....closed. It's as simple as that, it was so comfortable and lightweight and it had such a good feel to it, that for me, at least, it just closed, and it wasn't even broken in, at all (or at least thats what they said.) I ended up buying the 993 c/a there, which came in two days ago and is terrific. I only really read the part of your review about the pads, no offense, so i don't know if you've already mentioned this, and if you did, just forget this but, i think you should include something about your experiences with the service there. I, for one, when i went there, felt that they were absolutely terrific. At first the guy let me try on the matrix 3 c/a, and i felt that it was too big and bulky, so then i tried on the 993 and it felt a lot more comfortable to me. Now, to others this may seem like a very little thing, but to me it was big. When my mom asked the salesman (i forgot his name) whether she would be better off paying the extra 25 dollars for the m3, he told my mom that if i felt that it would handicap my play even the slightest bit, then i should not get it. To me, at least, that is a big thing, because a lot of people on this board make them out to be these cheap bastards who are trying to rip you off. And although i have nothing against people with this opinion, i will just say that personally, i own ******* 993 leg pads and i love them, and i also now own the ******* 993 c/a. If you want to express your opinion about something that you actually have used or tried on before, that is ok with me. But if you're just hating ******* because they pretty much copy the best manufacturer's stuff and sell for hundreds less, even though they mod it a little bit to their own liking, or are hating it for some other reason, thats ok if you hate it, but let's not make this thread, or this forum for that matter, into a warzone. I'm not intentionally trying to single anyone out, because i love this board and have gained a lot of useful information from it. I'm not trying to sound all preachy and stuff, and im not trying to say you HAVE to listen to me...im just making a suggestion about how ******* is a legit company like everyone else, and i frankly couldn't care less about whether or not nobody else likes em...they make great gear for a terrific price, and i couldnt give a damn whether or not theyre exact replicas of another large company's pads. Anyways, not to turn this thread into a www.pastorshinderhizzle.info sorta thing...im just sick of all these people dissing *******...........sorry if ive angered anyone out there...and good luck with your pads! I can't wait till next year, cuz my mom's promised me new pads and im definitely interested in the 994's!!!

by the way sorry for the ridiculously long posts...my mom wants me to study for a test i have in a week and a half and not only am i putting in my 2 cents, im also procrastinating haha!

With you that one. I love my ******* gear (Matrix II legs, catch, block, C/A, and two sticks). I might be a ******* Billboard, but that's no different from the guy that dropped a ton more money on RBK, Vaughn, etc.

Nothing wrong with saving some $$$ and purchasing a quality piece of gear even if they copy other's designs. Pretty damn smart business on their end...let someone else design, and then just make it cheaper but same quality. FLAWLESS plan!

All well and good for the two of you, but this is still not a review of game used gear.

Shinder... your post may actually have some useful info contained within but it is almost indecipherable due to the format. I started but could not finish reading it due to the layout...

Please, pretty please, take the time to use paragraph breaks and proper formatting if you want anyone to read your posts.

Thanks.

sorry about that thewall....once i posted it i kind of realized that i didn't use any spaces or indents. But, then again, it is a ridiculously long post, and i was afraid that people would not read all of it b/c they would not want to read as long as a post it looked like. However, this, i guess, was not the case, so right after this im going to add some line spaces in there. Thanks for the tip though thewall....

actually, i used to make long posts like these with spaces every two or three sentences. lol. First one extreme and now the other

anyways, sorry if my previous post offended anybody, i just get really frustrated when people call someone *******-biased when they make a ******* review that is positive, and are always ripping on ******* gear when in reality most of these people most likely have never tried on ******* gear, or at least not in a very long time. Call me a Holden Caufield, but i just hate phonies like that lol.

ANYWAYS, good luck with your new gear man, and please, get some pics and an on-ice review as well soon!!!

Ice review of 994 and Matrix gloves

I thought I should give the gear at least a couple of ice times before posting.

The 994's 34+2 seem a bit bigger on me then the 993's but the performance is incredible. In over 150 shots no 5 five hole goals. 994's are square to the ice and
and close really well for me. Today I took a point blank five hole slap shot right at the hash marks and with no stick coverage because I was sliding across (my arm movements need work) no problem it bounced out a bit but it was a save. The feel and flexibility were perfect. The pads feel like they have been mine forever they are that comfortable.

Matrix 3 Glove I like how it stick handles and the pocket is deep enough so that nothing bounces back. I am still breaking it in. Its very light and I also like the technology of the glove many adjustments but worth it.

Matrix Blocker 3 This blocker performs better and better as I play more and more.
No stingers on either glove. I am really enjoying this set combination.

I'll post some pics later today
