Just a FYI to all of the people who are saying Flextoe is too short, next up for them will be different sizes ... not sure when, but that is in the works now, I talked to a guy today who works with the inventor.
Just thought I would share.

Its a good idea, but the hooks need to clasp the lace and not allow the lace to slip out.

I think you're hooking them from the top. If you hook from the bottom of the lace they do not come off. I've played 30 games with mine and hasn't come off once.

I think I like them. I've played with them for about 5 or 6 games now.
I actually think that in my case they do what they are supposed to do. They seem to take pressure off of my ankles. Maybe my hips and kness, too, but I notice it the most in my ankles as I don't have the pain in them that I would sometimes have after games. I notice that I can play more often with less soreness. (That's important for a 38-year-old.)
Re: the hooks... I had one of the hooks come off only once and never even noticed it until I was taking the pads off after the game. Other than that, they've stayed put so long as I make sure that my laces are fairly tight to begin with. They will certainly pull on the laces and make more slack as you continue to play, so you need to be aware of that at the beginning.
Speaking of that, what I don't like about them is that they screw up the way I like to wear my skates. I tend to go pretty loose across the top of my foot and tighten my laces really only at the ankles and higher (the last two eyelets). This pulling on the toe area of the laces means that I need to keep things tighter across the whole skate. Not a huge deal, BUT I think they could come up with a better way of attaching them so they aren't constantly tugging at the laces.
I'd probably try to go with something that (A) wasn't plastic (though this might be the only realistic option), and (B) somehow hooked through the eyelets of the skate instead of the lace.
I don't think this product is really necessary, though. Before I used laces and I might have achieved a similar level of comfort by just adding a little more slack. Maybe, maybe not. However, I think I like having the combination of a relatively tight pad to my skate with the flexibility of a little bungee-slack only when I need it.
Not an "omg, I can't play without it!" product, but probably worth checking out. In my case, I'm glad I gave them a try and I think I'm going to keep them for a good while.

nice review. i just ordered a pair, will post my thoughts after a few games, i think the main drawing point to these are the fact they take alot less time to put on then laces, for me thats the main reason im getting them

well, finally got my new pads yesterday. set flex toe up on them, had a game last night. went to test flextoe before my game to make sure everything was ok, and low and behold the clips DO NOT fit through my roller chasis. i have tour code carbon gx's. Tour Code Carbon GX Senior Inline Hockey Goalie Skates so flextoe is basicly useless for me :/
they can fit through the middle opening but not the front, but the middle one is too far back for them to fit

Flextoe
I'm pretty fussy... and I love my flextoe's. There just so fast to put on... I like the feeling of my pads a little snug around my boot.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I just got my FlexToes in as well and didn't realize they weren't made for roller. I emailed them tonight and hopefully they have a work around, otherwise I guess i'm going to try and pop off the hooks and run the cords through the chasis first and then permanently attach them.

even with the wheel missing it still doesn't fit? probably easier to remove the wheel and screw with the hooks. but your idea would work as well.

FLEX TOE is now available at The Hockey Shop in Surrey, BC. I was in there today and noticed them, they just brought them in last week or something. Quick and easy if you're local!
