How do people like the blocker? I haven't had the chance to try it on yet, but that side wall looks like it's huge and would be kind of annoying. I'm really looking into RX9's as my next set.

i havent used it yet in a game but im using it on friday and I will do a review, but so far comfort wise it seems almost like a v3. I had a v3 last year.
The protection seems pretty solid all around, fingers and side looks top notch. The palm is very well done and I don't have any seems cutting into my hand. There is one flap on the inside of the blocker that rotates the stick when I hold it but i have worked with it and tryed to soften it up and now the problem has stopped and it feels just fine now. Thats just my first summary on the blocker after having it for 5 days so far.

when i recently ordered my v3 i tried on every blocker in the store(Wesco). The only two blockers that i really like were the v3 and the rx9 which had very similar balance, weight, and feel. The only difference was the sidewall of the rx9 was bigger which i found annoying. So i went with the v3 b/c it had a smaller sidewall and i was able to custom order a diamond grip palm which i liked from my V2 blocker. The rx9 is definently a solid blocker and it would've been my second choice.
BTW didn't you have an R8 w/ v3 gloves setup and now a p2 setup?

Yea the big sidewall does look kind of weird..

And yeah I went from R8's which were pretty sick but not my style, with v3 gloves. I LOVED the v3 blocker but absolutly hated the catcher. I am now in full p2's. The pads I love, but the blocker and catcher I'm not crazy about. It seems like I have to hold my catcher weird to keep it square, and the blocker.... I just dont like.

the sidewall is bigger but it it only to help out for the goalie. I compared the 2 blockers and the v3 was smaller around the boarder. The binding on the v3 is so soft that it wont help to stop a puck and ITECH used that space to make the surface larger. Also on the v3 there is a ridge on the side of it and maxes out the NHL sizing limits. With the RX9 they dont have that so they can afford to make the side plate move down farther.

love the glove,
man i dont know what to say about it,
so basically im coming from a v3 which was an ok glove, but decided to get more of an actually catching glove. Out of the box it had an amazing feel and closure. The back of the catcher wasn't closed off like most gloves are and allows greater rotation of the wrist. This glove feels great shooting turco style and regular shooting and allows for you to get a good firm grip of the stick. I am basing this on just two skates but it feels like ive had it for a season already.

rx9 blocker and catcher review

ive had the rx9 blocker and catcher since late may

blocker- I have nothing but positive things to say about this blocker. The main things i like are the weight, this is a very light weighted blocker. I love the flexibilty i have in the wrist in this blocker this allows me to angle pucks into the corner(this was the most important reason i got it,) the balance is also great. The curve in the blocker allows so u dont get those stupid goals that skip up into the air and into the net. I have had no problems with the big side wall infact i like it. i wasn't using the wedge until the other night because i didnt know how to put it in the blocker. But it feels alot better with it then without.

trapper- This trapper is nice, catches well, if the puck doesnt hit the pocket it gets deflected there which is nice. It's light and very ajustable. I dont think i've had a stinger yet after almost 3 months. The only problem i had is im still fairly young and its a bit big so i have had some trouble covering pucks on the ice.
Has anyone else had this problem??

Heres a picture of my blocker and catcher (i hope it works im a bit of a noob )
