those look nice.
really like the graphic.
really don't like the name plate.
just doesn't fit with the rest of the graphic.

I think the tabs are for "quick change" placement of the straps and replacement of buckles.

Wow ... I'm surprised those kneepads are NHL legal now that I've seen a pair in more detail.

As for the neck collar, you may want to have it cut or modified to not go so far around the back. I had the problem with a maltese. My theory is that a puck strike (with any relevant force) is going to come from the front angle, so I don't need protection all the way around (which interferes with the helmet). I edit my neck guards to stop at just behind the ear.

kael:the neck guard is going back when i ship the pads back, to be cut down in the back. awesome neck guard, but i ordered it too big.

conguistadoirian:the tabs are to hold the strap that holds the leg strap, so that it is replaceable.

agentfish:yes the legchannel is removable, but it is still "open". you can remove theouter padding, the inner padding, pretty much anything. it not a closed leg channel like a v1 or v2.

west wall: like i said, best comparison is the one95

dawgmary: yes brand new design, i think i might have been the first to get them. they are a clones of the rbk luongo ones

drplywood: i also agree about the name plate, i liked her old "PAW" one alot better, but since these are demos, i bet she put it on there like she did so people knew the full name of the company when they saw the pads. but thats just a guess

Steve,
Could you take some close up pictures of those tabs, front and back?

I am curious to see how they work. Are they just jenpro pockets that you can slide leather pad straps into?

For the nylon straps, it looks like they have their own loops and attach using some slik clips (I think that Vaughn and Smith also use this type of attachment system).

Dorian,

The tabs are nothing special, they just hold the webbing so I don't have to sew it directly into the side of the pad. The slick clip goes onto the loop so you can move the straps around a bit or change them easier if they break.

Some pads do have jenpro pockets to hold leather straps. The straps are cut with a flare on the end to lock into the pocket and not pull through. The pocket is doubled over jenpro with one open end, and the other end has a small slit for the strap.

I think im going to secretly start cutting my pads with a razorblade so I can have Sara make me a pair of legpads.

I cant wait to get my kneepads from her in the next week of so. They are more like attached knee stacks than knee pads.

The knee braces may explain why they look extra bulky on him. I'm just curious what kind of knee braces he wears.

When you say "rbk luongo" ones, are you referring to the RBK P2 Pro Knee Protectors? And if so, how do these compare? Just curious because I really need to get some knee guards and I've read alot of good things about the P2's but the paws also look pretty good! Someone help me decide!!!
Thanks!

These "Luongo" style knee pads that Sara is making are styled after the custom Luongo, Giguere, Huet varaitions that the RBK custom shop made for them.
The new RBK Pro knee pads that are out are totally different.
I have had them for about 3-4 months now and while I like them will be getting a pair of the custom ones from Sara as well.

Just not totally sold on the RBK ones even though I think they are best of the off the shelf ones.

They are pretty different as far as the "5 hole" coverage goes.

If you have the patience I personally would order the one from Sara as you get what you want built into them and the off the shelf Rbks do not have the "flare" that these do.

If you want to get a pair right now the Rbks are pretty good and do an excellent job of protecting the sides of your knees and move with you.

It really does become a preference issue.
