Review of the Mckenney 755 Catch Glove

I picked up a 755 catch glove a few weeks ago because the Kay that I had finally ripped apart. I went with the 755 because it has a longer cuff. It's two inches larger in catching surface than the 750, but it really doesn't seem to be that much of a difference. Well, The first time I was able to use it was this morning at my Friday skate. The glove feels great even though it's not completely broken in yet (I started off with packing the pocket with pucks and wrapping some skate laces around the glove to try and loosen the seam in the glove a little). The glove is very protective. I took some pretty serious shots to the inside of the palm and to some of the outer areas and didn't feel any stingers. The pocket is a little deeper than I'm used to. When I did catch pucks, it was so cushioned that I almost didn't know I caught a couple of them. Also due to the depth of the pocket, if I don't open the glove up all the way, the puck doesn't come out as easy as my old one. But again, this is the first time that I've used it and it will take some getting used to. The only thing that it doesn't have that my Kay did was ridges on the inside of the glove where my fingers were. The ridges were great. I know that the inside will roughen up some and that I'll be able to grip it better, but you just can't beat finger ridges. I'm sure that if someone else has had them they would agree. All in all, a great purchase. It feels every bit as comfortable as some of the Vaughn's that I've tried on. It doesn't have as many straps to tighten it to your hand as a Vaughn, but I'm used to the one strap across the wrist so that works fine for me. Hope this helps anyone who may be looking into a McKenney Trapper. I also have the 750 C/A and 750 Pants and they are awesome. There's a couple things on the C/A that I would change if I built them, but they're still very good.
