NEW Goalie Heaven Spec Eagle Sentry 3

Just arrived today...this pair is mine, so hands off, but we've got more coming in tomorrow or monday...

We've taken the Sentry 3, which is a dynamit pad and added a few custom things that we ALWAYS get asked for.

some features include...

+2 sizing(+1 optional)
thinner profile
one solid knee block instead of stacks
flex breaks in the side roll below and above the knee.
smooth calf wing with no graphics or exposed thread
sliding toe bridge
taken out the inside toe/thigh graphics

Eagle has given us estmiate delivery of 3 weeks all year, I would say even if its 4 weeks, you're still 2 weeks faster than anyone and closer to 6 weeks less than most. Custom pads made and shipped in a month, thats not bad.

at first glance, the side roll gives the pad a bit of a Vaughn look, but the pad is still quite a bit different. I'm really impressed with the way these turn out. I just got off the phone with the man in charge at Eagle and so was he. The pads just feel right, I popped them on with a pair of skates and they're sweet. This pad has the best feel personally on an eagle pad since I wore the PMW1 back in around 2003. I think Eagle has finally nailed it down how they envision the pads to be. We've decided to go with soft knee roll look, flat face is available as well, and if you want the stock solid side roll it's no problem. I went with the Sentry/Odyssey U close on the catcher, Fusion (C) and Infinity (V) are also available no problem and our stock will feature both U and C breaks. I went with skate lace in the pocket, something I get in all my gloves. I don't know if it does anything for the glove but make it a bit sexier. No changes were amde to the gloves, they have turned out VERY nice this year as Eagle simply outdoes themselves in this department every year.

These and other custom specs of your own choosing are available and usually with limited or no upcharge barring a major change.

I should receive a set of Sentry3 in the days to come, just can't wait. I went with a custom graphic, really simple, I wanted to have an old-school graphic, so it would look like the early 90's Vaughn and Heaton.

The sentry3 line looks nice, can't wait to try it.

well, I wore them wednesday and loved them. the catcher break is a bit different than what I've been using differently, but after the warmup I was good to go.

started out a bit rough, my first shot on goal was a breakaway and WE had the powerplay...the guy madea nice move, what I refer to as the Fedorov move, pull it outside, let the goalie open up and go back five hole. I NEVER get beat this way, but I was still a bit awkward on the pads and it just got through me. second goal was a couple minutes later, I was against the right post, right leg up on the post, left leg knee down the guy cut in and it just kinda dribbled past me.

after that, it was smooth sailing, we came back for the 5-2 win and I didnt have any issues, butterfly was nice, closed perfect rotated nice.

too bad I broke my arm friday...i'm off for a couple weeks

How do you like the squared up "Velo" side roll compared to, say, the triangular side roll on the Fusion pads? Any major differences? Benefits? Downsides? I like how the square roll looks on those pads.

Dana, that really sucks... If you need someone to cover some games for you let me know. If my schedule allows I can try and help you out.

I had to look in on this post again just to rememeber what my gear looks like
