Why don't you guys sell more Brian's stuff?
I've noticed that you guys seem to have very limited amounts of Brian's gear. why is that?

Brians tends to be more of a custom company and arent real huge on retail anywhere, thats just my conjecture.

Bumped...I'd like to see an answer to this as well. It'd be great to see some DX5s up there.

We just have not seen the demand for the product. I have heard it is better in Canada, but in the States it has been very slow. When you are working with a budget, do you carry a Brian's pad that may not move or a Special Edition Vaughn or Itech that will carry more demand.
Nothing against Brian's, I have always really liked Karen and Ben up there, but it is just a reality of our market.
Thanks, Mike

You're telling us that ITECH has bigger demand in the US than Brian's? Yikes!!! That's frightening.

You might get another customer for Brian's soon. They may be more popular here, but people seem to like jacking up the price way too much.

We have an account and can special order anything, the decision is not to bring in large volumes of stock, custom is always an option
Thanks, Mike

I see this same kind of comment on golf equipment forums and others in regards to high end product. The simple fact is that the bonfide equipment junky and his peers like one would find on this forum...do not make up the huge majority of retail sales.
If I was to be offered a 10% share of Brian's sales vs. a 10% share of Itech's goalie sales in cold hard cash....Itech would make me a lot richer.

Also you have to understand that the big boys pressure the retailers to carry the whole line. So the RBK and itech have lines in all the price points and tell the retailer that if they want the top line they also have to carry all the price points, meaning a big chunk of the retailers money is tied up in all that product and now they can't afford to just carry Brian's high end stuff. Brian's is trying now with the overseas line such as the DX5 to make them a little more competitive. Push your retailer and tell them you'll shop elsewhere unless they bring it in. Big boys have way more money, reps and advertising dollars than the little guys so help them out as much as possible. Plus the gear is way better in quality.

I do not know if you are getting the point of why we choose to carry different brands. If you run a company and you bring in product and it sits and eventually has to be closed out for a net loss, you do not stay in business very long. We have brought the gear in before and had a lot of trouble moving it.
So would you as a company:
1. Bring in a company that you have had a hard time moving and receive little to no inquiries about. Before this thread, no one has mentioned Brian's to us in months.
2. Bring in a pad like the V3 "Price" Graphic that we have received hundreds of phone calls with one article in the Montreal Newspaper.
The reality is we cannot carry everything. There are certain brands that do offer more lines and products (Skates, masks, accessories, etc). You have to be very careful in what you book in this industry because booking 20 sets of gear that does not sell equals a $ 20,000.00 loss.
I personally like the Brian's line and have worn there gear for years when I was younger. We would absolutely order anything that a customer would want, but we cannot at this point fill the shelves with a product that may not sell when you know another product will sell, you have to mange your budget wisely or you will not be in business very long.
Thanks, Mike

If they changed their name to Brain's, I'm sure they'd get a lot more hits based on the spellings I've seen here over the years...
