I agree with snow, I have a credit card but my limit is tiny. Money orders are great! With money orders you spend the money you actually have. Credit cards are debt makers!

A person could always use a Debit Card, most have a Visa/MasterCard logo and can be used anywhere credit cards are taken, but the money comes out of our checking account!

Okay, I just need to chime in here, again.

I do not believe this was a "bash goaliemonkey" thread...this was a person who had a legitimate problem with them and voiced it. Now, I do agree that it wasn't the best place to ask if anyone else has had the same problem, but why can't this person voice a negative experience with a company?

You can be damned sure if I had a negative experience with any hockey company, I'd resolve it through them and, most likely, let people know my story. Whats wrong with that? Seems like we're saying it's OK to post positive transactions, but if we have a neutral or negative one, we can't speak up? My interpretation of this particular case is that he attempted to resolve it through goaliemonkey but didn't have the greatest of luck and there was confusion on both ends...it happens, and the original poster was very respectful and obviously didn't let this particular situation make him go somewhere else for other gear, seeing as he is still planning on purchasing quite a few things from Mike and the boys in CA.

Like I said a few posts up, I've had nothing but good experiences with goaliemonkey and would refer anyone to them for business however, I'm not going to turn a blind eye (or ear) when someone has something to say (neutral/negative/positive) about them.

I'm fine with people posting negative experiences but please please please post the entire story not just the part that makes you look right.

I understand the credit card is a sweeping statement. But you can pay off a card each month, and there are a million other things I could mention. Bottom line I have a business and know from experience, if you dont have a credit or debit card its not worth the time. Cash is ok but a headache.

Also money orders are the easiest way to commit fraud as it takes several days for the bank to verify, but yet it appears in your account that you have the money.

I agree with Rocki033 why would want to mail a money order to complete
an online transaction it is nothing but a pain for both parties. In this instance
who knows if the money order was sent or not with a credit/debit card the order can be processed within minutes. If you can use a credit card responsibly it is the easiest form of payment.

I actually have no problem with money orders, they are generally very safe through US Postal and Royal Bank of Canada. It does take a few extra days and a little extra effort, but that is part of the deal of working retail.

I have to some what disagree with your statement. You can pay your card off each month but most dont. I have a small credit card that i use for emergency's. I am a student own a house and have zero debt... why i watch my money extremely carefully. Id rather not pay crazy interest on credit cards. Cash is way better, you have the money now so you can buy or do something now. Its sad that cash is a headache but its legal tender and same with money orders.

From a business perspective cash is better in store. The businesses normally get hit per transaction when accepting a credit card so it can be costly for them as well.... if every person placed and order and said... I will mail you my money order.... they would be just sitting around waiting for them to come in. When you get paid by the card its there and you have confirmation. Kudos to you for your situation, Id honestly say you are one of the few.... but when it comes to the business side... that doesnt mean much when buying something, if you are all about buying with cash, then why not buy local ??
